When I asked for a roof to be built over my back deck, I was envisioning just a rough wooden roof. But they made it look like an extension of my house! It is beautiful - not rough at all. They put a metal wrap over the wooden beams - and soffit and fascia that matched my exterior perfectly. I wasn't expecting this and it blew me away. And they did it all for what they quoted me. And each member of the team has a specialty. Charlie the carpenter has the roof up in no time, Tom the painter did a beautiful job, and John, the owner, is more like an artist than a builder, and of course Maddie (the real boss). When he tells you he will call or come over, he does it. His price is his price and all receipts are documented. The quality of his work is excellent!
I did wait over a month for Gary to work on my project, but he is well worth the wait. (Frankly, I take that as a good sign that he is busy because that means he is very good.) "When starting a project like I have, take the time and ask a professional to look at the job.  Rich saved me a ton of money by showing me how to take off the really old nasty wallpaper...and do it so that it was fairly quick and easy (don't spend a bunch of money on all the removal junk available at the hardware stores!).  We used regular old vinager and warm water, I mixed it at about 70/30 and put it in a cheap gallon sprayer.  Rich told me to dampen/sprat the paper for a couple of days and it would just peel off...and he was right!  Then he had me scuff all of the trim so that the paint would stick better....by helping do some of the grunt work that I didn't mind doing, it really saved on the labor costs.
