Comment: The homeowner, Tom, is hoping to be able to return home from a care facility soon. At minimum he will need a small ramp installed at the front door, 2 interior doors widened or removed (a bathroom door needs widening and a hallway door that exists only to divide his room and bathroom suite from the rest of the house needs to be removed because both interior doors are only 29 1/2" wide. Tom is a big guy and uses a big wheelchair.) At minimum the bathroom will at least need 2 grab bars installed, one for the toilet and one for the shower, and hopefully the tub can be replaced with a roll-in shower. The front door is a fine width already but the threshhold rise could be replaced with a sweep, although that's not as necessary as the other modifications. Currently no one is living in the house.
