"They cleared out some bushes and leveled the area where we want to put our back patio. They were respectful, professional, and did a great job! Everything looks so much better, and we’re very happy with the work they did. We would definitely recommend them!"

"Jerry and Brian have done my snow removal for several years now. They are always on top of everything. They arrive early, clear all snow and disturb no grass or plantings. Just perfectly clean parking and driving areas. Great people to work with!"

"Our family has been working on a clean out, demo, and refinishing of our Grandma's Basement. We have used this service to haul away garbage and debris on two separate occasions. The Junk Relief office was responsive, estimates could be done through text by sending photos, the price was extremely reasonable (priced per truck load with labor included *compared to* $200+ per small bagster bag). Each time drivers were attentive, prompt, and efficient. 10/10 recommend for the Chicagoland Area."

"Brian and his crew returned to my building on a warranty followup- their previous work done wonders for my flooding problems, but my foundation walls are apparently made of swiss cheese and there was one small seepage problem remaining which only shows up during a "100 year rain event".  Brian indicated that they go for 100%, not 99% and scheduled time to come back out to my building to address the issue under the warranty (a.k.a. free of charge) from the original work.  They came back out, dug up the foundation again, and found a crack hidden behind an old hasty concrete patching job that had been tarred over, which was determined to be causing the remaining seepage.  They repaired the crack and were done with the whole task in only hours.  I am a repeat customer, and can't say enough good things about Crawlspace and Basement Waterproofing solutions, they are friendly, helpful, and most of all, stand behind their work!

"So far they did mold clean up and draining system  in crawlspace. No problems. Will review remaining work once finished.  Good company to work with. Stuck with schedule and finished the work on time.

"Dominick was timely with his appointment to provide an estimate. His estimate was accurate, and they kept to their timeline. Their office staff was incredibly professional and courteous. The crew arrived, prepped the work area with plastic where appropriate, and within 20 minutes were jackhammering the existing concrete. They didn't waste any time! The crew was courteous and professional. They hauled away all the debris as promised, making sure to keep the driveway clean of material. They laid down plastic outside in their staging area for concrete - a nice touch to keep the driveway clean. They cleaned up after themselves thoroughly in the basement, walked me through their finished project, and were just generally a nice group of guys who got the job done quickly, efficiently and on budget. They even patched a few holes outside of the original scope of work. Can't ask for more than that."

FAQs for excavation projects in Burlington, IL

Depth depends on the type of installation and the regulations in your area. Water supply lines typically require 24 inches, while drainage pipes are often installed 36 inches below grade. For most general projects, a depth of 12 to 24 inches and a width of about eight inches is sufficient. Sticking to these specs keeps your utilities safe, code-compliant, and easier to maintain later.

When you need to run utilities underground, you’ve got two main options: boring or trenching. Boring employs directional drilling to install utilities without exposing a continuous channel, while trenching requires excavating an open channel to place utilities securely. Directional drilling preserves landscape integrity, whereas trenching provides direct access for installation, albeit with greater surface disruption. This clear comparison helps you select the method best suited to your project.

Plan on 12 hours to dig 100 linear feet when the soil is cooperative and you can work continuously. This timeframe applies when work is performed consistently and methodically. Factors such as rocky soil, tree roots, obstructions, and frozen ground increase the overall duration, demanding extra planning and effort. Comprehensive operational planning ensures that every challenge is managed efficiently and the project is completed on schedule.

If you want your yard to look untouched, laying fresh sod over the trench is the quickest fix. New sod needs 30 to 45 days to root and blend with the rest of your lawn. A local sod pro can provide you with a firm timeline and tips to ensure the grass takes hold and maintains your curb appeal.
