"It went AMAZING! I had been stressing out about my septic tank and it's issues for awhile before deciding I needed to finally figure out what was going on. Paul came out on a Tuesday to assess the situation and spent a good amount of time determining the best course of action. Him and another guy started on that Thursday!!! That is incredible! When you have these kinds of problems, you're ready for them to just be solved, and Hoehn contracting did just that! They came out and worked really hard to get my septic system functioning at it's optimal ability again. AND, they did it within a day! They were also friendly and professional, and definitely competitively priced! I would call them again in an instant if I ever needed to. It felt like he really cared and wanted to do the right thing, instead of a lot of other companies who are just trying to make the biggest profit. I really appreciated that. My septic is up and running like brand new!"

"Their services straightened up my drain and completely fixed my problem without having to dig up my floor. He used a jet wash high pressure water spray wash that cleaned out the interior drain. He also sent a camera down the sewer line to check and see the rest of the drain. In addition, he gave me the advice on what to do with the sewer line and I thought that was nice of him to do that."

"Lou and Bryce showed up at the time that was discussed. Lou was very polite and professional. He gave us his professional opinion as to what was happening. Last year, we were told by another company that our leech lines had collapsed. Since replacing the leech lines was not an option due to county regulations , we could have been looking at replacing the entire septic system. If we would have had have a new septic system, it could have costs us between $20K-$30K. Lou said he couldn't be sure but he could surely find out what was going on. He called Aaron, he brought out a back-hoe the same day, dug up the area between our septic tanks and distribution box and discovered it was the line between our tanks and distribution box that was clogged solid. We, also, found out the leech lines were working fine. They pumped both our tanks, dug up and replaced the clogged line, put a riser and lid on the distribution box and refilled the hole. We've lived in our home 3 years and have used 2 other companies when we have had issues. Hopefully, our septic issues have been resolved for a while but if anything new arises, we will be calling Aaron/Andrew's Septic."

"Once I got them out here they were great. I had called them and they were supposed to call me back; they didn't call me back so I called them again. This time they had someone out less than 5 minutes after we spoke. I have an all electric home and I asked them about a tankless water heater. They advised against it because it is not energy efficient for my kind of home. They were great and I will use them again in the future."

"Roger did what you want every contractor to do...stand behind their work and take responsibility for problems! The crew installed a new 125' copper water line from the meter to my house. The project went very smoothly and they did exactly what they said they would do. The crew was professional, knowledgable and took care to keep the house and finished basement clean. Everything went great...until I noticed water seeping through the foundation wall into the basement a few days later. I called Roger on a Sunday. He returned the call on Monday, immediately took ownership of the issue and came to my house on Tuesday morning to fix the problem. While he was there fixing the foundation leak, he determined that the copper waterline was leaking. On Friday, he sent his crew back to my house to fix the waterline leak. Unfortunately, the leak was much more difficult to find than expected. What they thought would be a 2 hr job turned into a 7 hour job. Despite both guys having plans that evening, they both stayed until the leak was fixed and the project was done. The leak turned out to be along a seam in the copper, and I could not see how the crew was at fault...more likely a manufacturing defect. So, the project turned out to take twice as long as expected and was much more costly for Roger, but he never asked for another dime and never once tried to avoid responsibility. His sole focus was fixing the leak. In my opinion, the true character of your contractors is displayed when problems arise. Roger and his crew passed with flying colors. I would definately recommend Henry Excavating and would use them again in a heartbeat. "

"The installation and responsiveness was very professional. The installer, Danny, took time to use all copper/brass fittings since that is what our piping is. He took pride in doing an exceptional job. After a few days, we noticed the water had an off odor to it. I couldn't pick up the smell, but my wife could. We asked about it and Butler quickly came out and brought an replacement resin tank to see if that would address it. It didn't. They brought ANOTHER resin tank out. This time, without the carbon filtering media. We still had the odor. It was strong enough that my wife couldn't drink it, make coffee with it, etc.
All of the customer service and response time by Sue, the office scheduler, and the installation/troubleshooting team was exceptional.
Since we could not seem to correct the issue regardless of what was tried, I contacted another supplier of water softeners and had them come and install a unit. The smell was gone. The water was soft. I can only assume it was a bad batch of resin...or a unique composite that my wife could detect.
This is where the story changes: I contacted Butler to tell them we had replaced their unit and why. I asked them to come pick up their unit and to refund $1100. I didn't request a complete refund since I knew they had incurred expenses with the replacement resin tanks. I kept calling Sue asking if they were going to accept my offer. She assured me that the owner, Art Friedrich, would call me back. I then called/emailed every 3-4 days for the next month. I was told that Art was: In a meeting, not available, on a conference call, in Columbus in a meeting, etc. I gave up. On 7/29/14, I contacted Angie's List to get help. The folks at Angie's List were outstanding. On 7/30/14, the day Angie's List contacted Butler Water Systems, Art called me to apologize for "letting things slip through the cracks."
He said my request for a refund of $1100 was very reasonable and that he would have Sue call to schedule a time for picking up the unit. That happened the next day, 7/31. However, you guessed it, NO REFUND. :-(
I called the office and spoke to Sue on 8/12/14. She was shocked to learn that I had not received the check since she has prepared it for Art's signature on 7/31. She promised to check on it and call me back. She did within the hour, to tell me that Mrs. Friedrich had secured a Cashier's Check and she was going to drive across town NOW to bring it to me. She did.
My summary: The staff of Butler Water Systems is professional and responsive. They know their business well. However, the owner is clearly lacking in professionalism and responding to the requests of customers. I hope this review is helpful for both prospective clients AND Butler Water Systems.

"Although the service tech who's name was never reveiled, did make the repair. It took 1.5 hours with a great deal of trouble shooting. He did identify the 10 year old Moen Valve but did not have full knowledge of its function. I eventually ID the specific part (mixing spool) using Google. I feel I was charged for his product training.. So the "deal" I purchased from Angies list was not such a deal. I purchased $39 for a service call that included an additional $39 worth of service work. Basically $78 going into the call. I was charged an addtitional $135 with no parts purchased. The total: $174 out of pocket and additional $39 perceived expenditure. Total of the two $213. The repair was to break free a locked up mixing spool.
Had the service technician had knowledge of the mixing spool function the service call would have been much shorter and not involved deassembling the other shower valve in my house. I am OK with him learning and OK with the extra time it took. However, I am not OK with paying for it. It is a fair expectation that the visiting plumber would be experienced in most modern valves. Additionally wonder if a simple call to one of his co workers could have shortened the learning curve??
He was courteous. I think he was resourcefull in his repair method once the spool was identified as such. He did maintain a clean work area and took care to keep the floors clean.
