"I was very impressed with Merrifield, and the owner, Jeff.  I received four quotes ranging from 3000 - 4500, and Jeff came down on the lower side.  The painter was professional and punctual - he covered all of our furniture with tarp and left every room clean when he finished the work.  He also stayed late each day (until 6:30) even when arriving at 8:30 to start the job.  The paint looks great and I am very happy with the quality of the work.  Jeff is very accessible over email and phone - it is always great to have direct contact with the owner of the company when you have a question.
However, the thing that impressed me the most was when I got nervous about lead paint (I am pregnant and we live in an old house) because they had to lightly fix the walls where there were cracks.  I called Jeff at 7:00 PM the first night of the job and he reassured me that they are lead paint certified, talked me through the wall repair process, and they would not be disturbing old paint.  He was very professional and courteous about the call.

"This is the second time we have used Virginia Home Remodel, and both times the work has been excellent. They took all of the old material out right down to the studs. They put in a new cement floor for the shower, all new walls for the shower, and extended the shower nearly a foot. We picked out the tile which they installed perfectly, including a recessed space on the shower wall. We provided a semi-frameless glass shower door which they installed flawlessly. They installed new tile on the bathroom floor, which resembles hardwood. They supplied a new vanity with a granite countertop and backsplashes, which harmonized with the tile. We provided, and they installed a LED lighted mirror with a dimmer and a de-fogger, which works great. Finally, we supplied, and they installed a barn door with wood and translucent panels, all of which made the bathroom look and feel much brighter, bigger, and more modern. The price was very reasonable, and the quality was extraordinary. Three years ago, we hired the same contractor to remodel the second bathroom, and they did the same level of outstanding work. We have plans for another project soon. These are great folks to work with."

"Edwin Loayes and his team were fantastic! He provided a fair quote for the work and kept to the estimate. His team was extremely careful in our home, taking care to cover furniture and prevent damage to our wood floors so that paint and drywall didn't damage anything. Their attention to detail was also professional, taking care to make sure everything looked better than we they walked in. They even went out of their way to fix little blemishes and properly secure wall-mounted fixtures after repainting. We also appreciated the fact that they took their COVID-19 precautions seriously, wearing face masks at all time without us having to remind them or ask. They had estimated that it would take three days to complete the work, but Edwin brought in an extra few guys on the second day so they could complete the work in two days—which we appreciated since we are (like everyone) working from home and had to sequester ourselves to another level of the condo.
