A detailed list of findings and recommendations was documented, and an estimate presented. I was hesitant to use my fireplace until having it inspected, but now am looking forward to my first use of the season. My dryer is working much more efficiently now, and I can have peace of mind that it is not a fire hazard. "Everything went great. He called because he was available early and wanted to know if it would be ok to come earlier then planned. When he arrived, he introduced himself and verified the scope of work requested. He went straight to work. When complete he explained everything he did, showed pictures of things that would need work, and answered all of my questions. It was only $150 for the inspection and cleaning and I received my receipt with the pictures he had taken within minutes. He was quick, clean and very professional. "After interviewing 5 different roofing companies, I chose Moss Roofing. I liked the fact that Benny, the Project Manager, was going to be present the day the job was done. Benny was great at answering my many questions & offered to bring out roofing samples, e-mail a pic of my roof with sample shingles superimposed on it, & nail some samples to my roof when I was having difficulty choosing a new color of shingle. In addition to the roof being replaced, I also was having my chimney replaced with a chimney cap by a heating/cooling company. Moss had to remove my old chimney & coordinate the roof installation with the chimney cap installation. Everything was done the same day with no issues. There was a small problem with the gutter installation, but Moss took care of it immediately & to my satisfaction. Beverly, the owner, was very professional & followed-up on everything. I was very happy with the work they did!"

"The owner, Robert Helm came out and talked with me about what he was going to do. About meshing (blending) in the addition to the original house and taking down the chimney and closing the hole that it would leave and about the leak we had where the garage and the original house come together (that was supposed to be fixed when we had the roof re-done in Dec. 2003). Then Mr. Helm and his crew came out and did all the work on June 9, 2016. Mr. Helm helped take down the old chimney and nothing came crashing down on the new addition or on the ground. The crew worked all day. Mr. Helm left to get rid of the old chimney parts and shingles from the the area of the original house that were removed to mesh the new addition into. Mr. Helm came back when the job was finished and climbed up the roof and checked all the work. He told me about the California valleys that were done on the addition to the original house and he told me about the repair to the roof area where the chimney was and he also checked over the repair to the roof where the leak had been . He told me that his worker said that there were several items missing that they would have put on that area of the roof that leaked after the re-roofing in Dec. 2003. Mr. Helm said to let him know if the roof leaks or the repair leaks anytime. We just had a big rainstorm (today is June 14, 2016) and my rain gauge shows over an inch of rain and at times it was coming down very hard AND I have NO LEAKS , not in the addition, not where the chimney was AND NOT WHERE THE LEAK HAS BEEN. Added note: The company that did our roof in Dec. 2003 had come out at least 2 times to fix the leak where the garage and the house meet AFTER they re-roofed the entire house with no success. It would take many calls before we could get a call back. We honestly got tired of contacting them and gave up . That part is our fault. I want to thank Robert Helm and his crew from R&R Roofing!!! We will sing their praises to all who ask about a roofer!!! Mr Helm and his entire crew were very polite, careful of our property and hard workers!"

Detailed pictures were provided so I could see exactly the areas needing attention and repair. "I have a rather rare roof style- flat, not low slope, flat.  It was pretty much wood decking covered with tar paper, then asphalt, then rock. I've come to learn that this is called built-up roof or BUR.  My house was built in the 60's when this was more common but these roofs are prone to leaking and I wanted to replace my roof with a membrane (TPO) roof. This really limited my options for contractors since only companies that do commercial roof (ie on walmarts) can install membrane roofs.  Most companies either wouldn't do a  residential roof cause they aren't worth their time or  would charge an astronomical price (~20k).   <br />    I got quotes from several companies, some of which didn't seem like they had ever installed a membrane roof and would only give me a 2 year warranty.  Since I don't plan to be in this house for more than 5 years, I really wanted a good, transferable warranty to make it easier to sell the house.  Duramax gave me a competitive quote and a 10 year warranty (much better than other companies) and it was clear that they had experience with this type of roof.  After receiving the quote and talking with an architect I decided the best best thing to do was to put a layer of tapered insulation under the membrane to add a little slope to the roof to prevent water pooling. Steve met me at my work to talk with me about how to do this, went back to my house to get measurements again was able to work with me on the price to include the insulation.  After I agreed to go with them, Steve met me at work again to go over the paperwork.  He saved me a lot of time and hassle by meeting me when/ where I wanted.  They started the work as soon as they could and the weather cooperated, which was about 2 weeks later. <br />    They showed up with a crew of 5-6 and Steve and the owner were either there or available to make sure things went smoothly.  Tearing off the old roof was harder than we expected.  There were several layers to the roof and they could have just put the new roof on top of this but I wanted them to get it down the the decking underneath to make sure it was solid.  They were happy to do whatever I wanted even if it meant and extra day of work.  It was clear that they were focused on keeping the customer happy.  There was  a couple  places where the decking was rotten and they replaced this without charging me more.  There were also a couple of issues when they were installing the insulation regarding the lip-edge around the roof (critical with a low-slope roof).  I called Steve and he was out there immediately to make sure everything was done right and I was happy.  He was very attentive to the customers needs. When it came time to install them membrane, they brought in their "commercial roof" guy that clearly had a lot of experience with this type of roof.  They did a very good job installing it and made sure I was happy with it.   In the end I fully expected the bill to be a little higher than the quote due to the unexpected issues they had to deal with but they didn't ask for a penny more. <br />   Overall I would highly recommend Duramax since they did quality work for a good price, treat their customers very well, and stand behind their work. <br />"

"While receiving estimates from several contractors for new roofing, it was pointed out that the chimney was in need of repairs.  Since I had contracted Masoner & Sons for masonry repairs several years ago, I contacted Ken Masoner to see if he would be available for this job, as well as some work on the brickwork above the foundation.  He was very prompt in coming by and providing an estimate, and was able to complete the work shortly afterward.  I will definitely call him anytime I need masonry work or repairs. <br />"
