"I've hired Mike's landscaping to do a spring treatment (fertilizer and pre-emergent) of part of my lawn for the past two years. Having 7 acres, I try to develop/maintain several acres as a "lawn". I'm out in the country, surrounded be fields. When I inquired about repeat services this spring, the price more doubled ($450/acre) since I have no desire to be under an annual contract. Last year I paid $280 for treatment of 2.25 acres. I do my own treatment for annual weeds. So they priced themselves out of a quick job (under an hour) and do not reward customer loyalty."

"Initial contact and performance with company was great - both with the fencing (Elite Fence) and patio (FX). A sales rep came out and explained everything and showed us a well designed sketch for our patio. We had our fence installed first and then our patio at a later date. They handled all permits, utility marking and applications to the HOA. <br /> Our experience began falling apart with our patio. First, when the rep was out he noticed an ill cut section of our fencing and took a picture and said he would make sure it was corrected - it never was. Second, I believe they hired subcontractors to complete the patio. Our contract said there would be wire mesh laid - there was none. We had selected our colors and stamp design, but the contractor didn't use the correct one (apparently they had two different stamps with the same name...). We wanted a paver look with the stamped concrete, but the "paver" was missing. I will say they company was VERY responsive to the error and the contractor came up with another option to tearing it all out - cutting in the lines with a saw. The end result was even better than what we had initially wanted. As for the wire mesh, the contractor said he had used a special concrete with metal fibers in it which made the wire mesh unnecessary. OK fine. This was completed in late August 2014. <br /> Come April 2015 after the winter thaw - I noticed major cracking on one of the edges of the concrete and it was flaking off, too. I'm assuming the sealant was coming off as well, since it looked as if the "color" of the concrete was coming off and we have white spots where it should be grey. We did not use any salt or snow melt on the patio during the winter as I know that it is a major killer to any surface. The contract said no warranties on stamped concrete, but I still needed this corrected. I contacted them to see what we can have done since I wanted a repair to look seamless and they had the color of the concrete we used on file. After leaving several messages and no call back, my husband finally got a hold of someone and was told they were busy but someone would be in contact with us. The whole summer passed and no contact. In the meantime we had decided we would like to finish enclosing our yard. Around Sept/Oct I contacted them on their website and mentioned the issues we tried to have fixed in April and then the extra work we wanted done with our fencing. I received an email response that Brian (the owner) was out of town but he would put the message on his desk and he would be in contact with us about the project. I still have not received that call. <br /> I now regret not having them dig up the entire patio and completing the project completely. I will never recommend them to anyone based upon this experience. Apparently, unless you do not have a larger $ project they could care less about you - let alone a previous customer who is having issues with their product. <br />"

"This is a referral for Columbus Hardscapes LLC and owner Rob Hewitt. We had a paver patio installed by Columbus Hardscapes back in September of 2015. Rob came out to our house and made practical suggestions to stay within our budget, without sacrificing quality. He was very easy to work with and truly has the customer in mind throughout the entire process. Columbus Hardscapes workers were professional and even cleaned the dirt from the street after they left. We did have some concerns after our patio was installed and Rob did an excellent job addressing our issues. He stands behind his craftsmanship and products used. They are more than fair when budget is in mind. The quality of their work is surely noticeably, they take their time and make sure it is done right. I cannot thank him and his crew enough for the hard work they have put into making our patio turn out better than expected. So if you plan on landscaping or hardscaping anytime soon, I advise you to check out Columbus Hardscapes @ installmypatio.com"

"It could not have gone any better. Brian laid out the plan which included replacing the steps with a smaller set to open up more of eh patio. We used the existing stones but had to buy additional to match. We also extended the patio by 8 inches. His crew was professional and hard-working (10-12 hour days) and the job was done it 4 days. They completely re-build our patio from scratch - really only used our existing stones and built it from the ground up...excavated, relaid foundation, stones and even re-sodded the grass around the walkway to the patio. Highly recommend their work!! It looks beautiful. <br />"

FAQs for outdoor kitchen building service projects in Alexandria, OH

Building your own pizza oven can be a cost-effective option if you already possess the necessary firebricks or materials and have the skills to complete the project. When you have the required supplies on hand, you save on material costs and labor fees. However, if you need to source every component, a pre-made kit may not deliver the same savings.

Fire bricks are engineered to withstand the high temperatures generated inside a pizza oven, protecting the structure from cracking or spalling. Standard bricks can fail under intense heat, potentially damaging the oven and creating safety risks. By using true fire-rated bricks, homeowners maintain consistent cooking temperatures, preserve the oven’s structural integrity, and reduce the likelihood of costly repairs. The modest increase in material cost is offset by longer service life and safer operation.

An optimal pizza oven installation positions the opening exactly between 36 and 48 inches above the ground to guarantee clear visibility and safe, comfortable access. This height optimizes heat distribution and ergonomic use. In addition, dome height can vary: shorter domes produce the signature soft, charred crust of Neapolitan pies, whereas taller domes are ideal for generating the robust baking environment required for New York–style pizzas.
