"Yes, though there were some bumps and burps along the way. He was the only plumber to respond to my emergency leak calls, though he lives in the next county. There was some trouble getting parts in my small town and I was without water for several days. Anyway, I now have running water again! I never thought I would ever look forward so much to doing laundry. 🙂"

"They identified that the proposed plan to install a boiler system would be costly and require a lot of demolition. They arranged for a competitor HAVC company to review and bid a forced air system including meeting us on site a second time. Coppersmith verified appointment times, was timely, knowledgeable, and considerate of cost vs return of solution over current heating system. We will consider Coppersmith for future plumbing needs. <br /> <br />"

"When I called to schedule the appointment the woman that works in the office was VERY nice and professional. She called later to reconfirm the date and time of the appointment. The plumber showed up, took a look at our basement and gave me a price for adding the gas line. I also had him look at and fix a loose pipe in the shower. He completed the work and did so quickly and professionally. The only complaint I have is they have fixed pricing. If you have this problem, you pay this price regardless of how long it takes or what your specific problem is. I would prefer pricing based on labor time and parts. For this reason I may not call them again."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Alma, CO

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
