"Dave York and his team have been truly outstanding over the past year in helping us take a lovely, though aging, home that we purchased and making it sound again. Some issues were more serious than others, but at every turn Dave treated each issue with high priority. Further, while he "knows a lot about a lot" already, when an issue arises that he has not encountered, he does the research and won't stop it until he is satisfied himself in terms of confidence to do the job right. He is fair, honest, thorough, and friendly. We can only offer the highest praise for York Remodeling."

"To be clear, the cost is labor only, and does not include the materials, which I purchased myself. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />First, the quality of work is very high. It transformed my kitchen, bathroom and family room from a source of embarassment to pride. Rather than talking in abstract about Jerry's workmanship and so on, here are specific examples. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1. The cabinets came with a rough installation plan. Jerry made sure that every visible surface of the cabinets is covered with finished materials. This includes the sides of panel boards, and the bottom of the cabinets over the window. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />2. The removal of the bulkheads left a scar in the ceiling. Jerry re-textured and repainted the ceiling. The scar is completely invisible (I am very observant), and my cabinets go all the way to the ceiling. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />3. All the cabinets are perfectly lined up, top, bottom and sides. The line where the cabinets touch the ceiling is perfect, no crack can be seen. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />4. Jerry installed 2 new lights in the family room. The installation required tearing out strips of dry walls and ceilings for the new wires and hardware. Jerry patched the wall, re-textured the ceiling and repainted both. The scars are completely invisible. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />5. The wall tiles in the bathroom are simply beautiful, and so are the new medicine cabinets. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />6. Jerry saved me tons of money by pointing out puck LED lights for my glass-door cabinets. these are super cheap, dimmable, and they look fabulous. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />7. Jerry is very flexible and accommodating. On several occasions I suggested additional work (e.g. new trim, new medicine cabinets) not discussed in the original contract. Jerry always said yes and charged me very fair prices. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />In addition, the price is very reasonable. To show this point I compare Jerry's work above with my experience with a and quot;high-endand quot; contractor, who proposed a MUCH HIGHER price than Jerry. While he did not do any work for me (thank goodness for that!), the following comparisons between his proposal and Jerry's work are illustrative. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />(1) He proposed 39-inch wall cabinets and crown moldings to cover the gap, because he could not cover the cracks between the ceiling and cabinets after the removal of the bulkheads. In contrast, Jerry installed 42-inch wall cabinets for me. The top of the cabinets seamlessly blended into the ceiling (see 1-3 above). <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />(2) For LED lights for my glass-door cabinets, he proposed strip lights from Kirby Risk. These cost $10/foot, plus 2 transformers at close to $200 each. The grand total was close to $600 (am I made of money?). In contrast, the Puck lights Jerry proposed cost me less than $10 each, for a total of less than $40. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />(3) His proposal is vague, including only broad descriptions (e.g. demolition) and a grand total. I had no clue how much each item cost and what I was paying for. In contrast, Jerry's proposal is super-detailed, listing costs item-by-item (e.g. $40 for moving a power outlet from floor to wall). <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I can go on and on, but I think you have got my point. This and quot;high-endand quot; contractor, by the way, has lots of good reviews in Angie's list and tons of testimonials from customers. In my opinion, Jerry deserves to be higher-ranked and better-reviewed, because of higher quality and better price. What else can you ask for? <br /> <br />"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Ambia, IN

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
