"The service was excellent! They arrived to pick up the vehicle a day earlier which was great. They delivered the vehicle right to my daughter's door and found a side street to unload. The service was delivered within the time frame given. All of my questions were answered via phone or email and the paperwork was seamless and the price was very reasonable."

"I have worked in the real estate industry and I have had the opportunity to work with a lot of companies.  I was impressed with the professional interactions I had with Midland Exterior's installers from working in their socks while in my home to stopping and petting my 14 year old male cat.  There were here for about two days.  Installed the windows with repairs to the wood rot to the frames around the old windows and then trimmed out the exterior on the 2nd day.   <br /> They picked up their trash and didn't use my dumpster to dump their trash!  Walked me through and we discussed which windows were worse than others and allowed me to ask my 100 questions.  They said the owner, Jamie had stopped by to see how the installation was going and he often shows up but they never know when.  Three different installers were in my home and they all had been with the company for at least one year and liked their jobs.  All spoke to me with respect, respectful of my property, landscaping, etc.  Overall very impressed with their installation. <br /> The owner, Jamie, showed up one week or so later and asked about the installation and overall experience to make sure I didn't have any questions or was not happy with any part of the process from the beginning to the end.  I don't think you find this type of personal service with companies of today.   <br /> During the presentation and evaluation of what it was going to cost to install the windows, I believe Jamie told me they would not be the cheapest, but their installation would be top notch and they would correct anything I was not happy with and service the windows for as long as I owned the home.  I was willing to pay more to have this type of guarantee as I have seen homes costing $500,000 with vinyl, cheap windows that failed within a couple of years, requiring the owners to do another install of windows.  I didn't want that to be me and to be out all that money again.  I like to don't it once and do it right. <br />"

"<p>He has done a custom-built closet, which turned out beautiful. He also has completely gutted and remodeled a downstairs bathroom. It turned out beautiful. We bought our hot tub from him when he was in the hot tub business. We have had the hot tub for 16 years. He does very good work and is pretty knowledgeable, but one has to have patience with him because he gets off in different directions sometimes. I put up with it because I like what he does. Some people might be a little bugged because sometimes he says he will be back tomorrow, but then doesn't show up until several days later.  The only issue I have with him is his timeliness. He is working on my deck right now. He is repairing where I have a 100-year-old tree that grew and put a hole in the deck and buckled it up. We are just getting started on that project. For us he has done carpentry, plumbing -- he installed all the toilets and did all the plumbing work. He is also a licensed electrician so he has done electrical work and you name it -- deck work. He is kind of a jack of all trades. Right now I know he is working on someone's basement, supporting steel beams and all that stuff. That is why he has not finished my deck work because he is busy with the basement. He also put in our garbage disposal for us. That guy has done so much I can't remember everything. I have been dealing with him, probably, 20 years plus. On the fence his cost was about $3,000 and the materials were the other $3,000. He will save people money because he has the customer buy the materials after he tells them what he needs. He takes no markup in the materials. He even went with me when I  bought the materials for the fence. He only charges you for his labor. I have several other project for him to do including putting on a garage roof. </p>"

"We met James at the Salina Home Show and loved the concrete countertop samples he had.  He came out to our home a few days later to walk us through the process, give us an estimate, and discuss our style/color preferences.  A week later he came over to install the countertops.  He had the whole job complete and cleaned up in a day and a half.  We couldn't be happier with the finished and his professionalism! <br />"

"They are honest about things that needed to be done, that he could or could not do. He has a lot going on and so he has to work on bigger project first but that is common. Sometimes if he do not have a big job you cannot really expect to get quick service, that kind of goes for a lot of people. I would use his services again in the future, as eventually it’s the right thing."

FAQs for shed, barn or playhouse repair projects in Arkansas City, KS

You’ll know it’s time for a new shed roof if shingles curl or buckle, soft spots sag, or water stains appear inside. Moss or other plant growth on the surface is another red flag that moisture has breached the roofing layers. Replacing the roof quickly stops leaks from spreading, protects stored items, and saves you from costlier structural repairs down the road.

Choosing between a flat and a sloped shed roof comes down to climate, budget, and upkeep. A flat roof is cheaper up front, but still needs a slight pitch for drainage. A sloped roof sheds rain and snow more easily, lasts longer, and often needs less maintenance. Weigh your local weather patterns, the look you want, and how much time you’re willing to spend on upkeep before deciding.

A shed roof’s life span hinges on the material you choose and how well you maintain it. Most standard products last 15 to 30 years, while premium picks like slate or clay tile can protect the structure for 50 to 100 years. Regular inspections, fast fixes, and routine cleaning all help you reach the upper end of those ranges and keep your tools and gear dry year-round.
