"I have a house with circa 1890's brick and mortar that once had seashells in it. David Ricard gave me a fair estimate to fill in mortar where a house brick was party broken by a telecom company and where some mortar fell out from an area a larger masonry company had repointed a few years before. David and his brother showed up on time, did the work in a reasonable amount of time, and cleaned up after. He showed that he understands different kinds of brick and the mortar required. I wish I had known about David before I hired that other company a few years before because the larger company didn't do a particularly good repointing job. I have upcoming mortar work needed on my front walkway and will be calling David for that repair. I would definitely hire him again and recommend him to others."

"The technician, David, arrived on time, and the company gave me the heads-up beforehand that I had requested. He went right to work, looking at the clog in my dryer (it had stopped several days earlier and the fault code told me there was a blockage), and then setting up his ladder to do the cleaning from the vent outside. He explained the process so I knew what he would be doing, and didn't seem to mind that I watched him closely. First thing we saw was a sparrow fly out of the vent, so as he noted, we could expect a bird nest. He then proceeded to pull out about a foot of nest material (thankfully only one egg and no babies). After he got out all of the big stuff, he ran a brush all the way to the dryer. Running the dryer then pushed out all of the lint. He bagged up as much as he could and took it away, but a lot of it disintegrated on touch. He assured me it would disappear in the next rain, and I'm sure it will. I then asked him about installing a bird guard, and he told me how much it would be ($85) and showed it to me. I liked the design since it does not appear it will collect lint, like one I had in a previous house, and it was metal so it should last. I had him install it. He then wrote up the invoice and I happily paid ($125 for cleaning, $85 for vent). No hidden or extra charges, no attempts to upsell. He told me that they usually recommend cleaning every two years, but given our small household size, three should probably be fine. I will be in touch with SixPenny in spring 2022."

"I purchased a roof inspection and tune-up theough Angie’s list. I was contacted quickly to set up the appointment and provided a reminder prior thereto. The technician was Mike G. who called about 10 minutes before arrival. He explained what he would do, then proceeded to inspect the attic and roof, making some repairs to the roof as necessay. When completed, we sat down to review pictures and discuss options. Mike G. explained things clearly but did not pressure us to do anything at this time. When the time comes to repair or replace the roof, we will definitely contact American Home Contractors."

"Painters arrived exactly on time and accomplished all tasks the same day. The manually stripped the deck and applied two coats of stain. They carefully cleaned and then painted the foundation concrete as it had got dirty over the years. They also scraped, caulked and painted a large bump-out window off our living room.

"I originally requested 4 quotes for roofing contractors. I received 3 quotes for estimates with Sino-American being one of them. That very same day, in fact almost immediately, I received a call from Mason, the company owner, which both surprised and relieved me who expressed interest in bidding on the job. We agreed to schedule his company to conduct an estimate. Sino-American was one of three bids I received who landed exactly in the middle and within my price range and although there was one lower estimate there was something special about the interaction over the phone I had with Mason that made me know that his company was the right choice. Mason arrived in person and ahead of schedule for our meeting. Mason was incredibly knowledgeable about the work to be done on this 25 year old or so roof that was basically falling apart and thorough about every single detail of the project. He offered many options for me to choose, from materials to colors, and everything in between including his project management style. I was sold on our business arrangement. Sitting at my kitchen table Mason began discussing each elements and phase of the project line-by-line in detail I didn’t expect and at this point could really care less about because in just a few moments listening to Mason it no longer felt like a business arrangement. I was at home in my kitchen sitting across the table from a trusted and deeply feeling friend. And so it was! Mason’s amazing and kind and diligent team arrived always ahead of schedule (they have that down to a science!) and did everything that was intended in the time it was told to me. His communication is outstanding and if ever there was something that came up, and in my case always it was about something regarding what lied beneath the shingles, Mason would call me to discuss the issue, offer options and give my o.k. before proceeding. There was never any situation that might have arisen that was not already discussed and priced by Mason. There is no doubt that he knows his business. The roof replacement was completed on time and beautifully done better than I expected. Yet the work was done so well it out shined the house itself and not because it was a new roof but because you could see the passion Mason has in his work and the faith in his work product he instills in his team. It absolutely reflected in the precision and the detail. Needless to say, I asked Mason to join me back to my kitchen table where I presented ideas about immediately remodeling the outside of the house and changing the exterior. Mason was honest (and kind and gentle) enough to quiet my outlandish ideas about changing the exterior and instead offered cost effective options through changing a part of the front of my house from 2 windows and a useless door (that I could never understand why it was there in the first place when I purchased the house 7 years ago) to three beautiful windows, new siding, and painting that has turned my house into a traffic stopper! My neighbors have offered that it looks like a newly built house and it really does! I cannot over exaggerate how grateful I am to have met Mason and his team at Sino-American and can recommend his company without hesitation! This coming spring I will invite Mason back to my kitchen table to discuss the new projects we (yes, I said “we” - I can never use another contractor – ever!) are undertaking to transform the back of my house including a very large new window, more siding, paint and the transformation of my deck, which by the way I have had the estimate in hand since the first project was completed. "From the very first contact through Angie's List messages, Paul and Patrick were extremely responsive and courteous.
They quickly set up a diagnostic meeting, explained the process and gathered every bit of information needed.
Patrick showed up on time, listened, examined the damage area and took the time to explain all options, costs, and complexities of the project. He answered all of my questions and understood my concerns.
Because we were dealing with unknown factors, he recommended using a camera into the ceiling to assess the damages. I felt more confident taking the repairs in stages rather than bringing down the ceiling as a first recourse.
Once the situation was assessed, we agreed on the best and most efficient way to address the damage. Patrick is very considerate to the homeowner's needs and concerns. He promised to make it as easy on me as possible, a promise he kept in spite of the messy nature of the job.
