Customers say: Quick response

"Called Chuck. The office I work for had lights out. Chuck sent Trevor who was very efficient and had them installed and cleaned up his work area. The office is so much brighter. This is the second time that I have called Chuck Raycraft Electric and I will definitely be using their service again. It is so great to have someone so prompt and who values your time. Thank you Chuck and Trevor for a job well done."

"Job was reviewed, estimate/quote was made. Estimate cost was considered a little too hi, so removed a couple items wanting done. Lead estimator was informed of new HVAC installation, but did not suggest replacement of outside disconnect with extension until called back after HVAC contractor required it to be completed. Learned later this is normally completed and should have been explored & suggested when evaluation for job was discussed. Electric company came back out immediately and corrected the situation, but cannot help but believe this additional trip and effort cost a little bit more then necessary."

"Derek took care of the tv wall mount and feeds without any problem. He has obviously done his share. Brandon replaced/installed two (2) bathroom fans we had purchased without any worries. He too has done his fair share of installations. Both gentlemen were professional, knowledgeable, punctual, and maintained their workspace. We could not have been more pleased. We failed to have the third bathroom vent in time for this appointment, so we scheduled one when the part arrived. Another timely appointment was made and Johnathan arrived as scheduled and performed his work as diligently as we experienced prior. Hat's off to all three of the professionals and, again, thank you for your excellent services performed. We will not hesitate in calling Buckingham Electric for any/all future electrical needs."

"James answered promptly looked at our punch list from purchasing a home of all the things that needed to be repaired and spent the whole day doing it, was quite professional friendly thorough and actually found a few things not detected in the home inspection. I would recommend James to anyone needing electrical work call him first, thanks again, James! - Christopher"

"My solar company hired these guys to repair my soffit that was caused by moving an electrical mast for my panels. The tech they sent out, Jon Hunter, did an excellent job patching the hole and painting the exterior. Jon was highly courteous, professional and thorough and I will be a regular Cranston customer now, as a result."

FAQs for electrical switches, outlets & fixtures install or repair projects in Asheville, NC

To select and hire an electrician for your light switch installation, start by evaluating candidates as you would for any skilled position. Ask detailed questions, request a written quote, and verify their licensing credentials. This careful screening prevents unexpected fees and ensures every aspect of the installation, including any drywall repairs, complies with code.

A light switch can malfunction due to compromised wiring or overheating conditions. Faulty connections and excess heat diminish the switch’s performance. If you hear crackling, popping, or hissing sounds when toggling the switch, this indicates active electrical faults that pose a safety hazard and demand immediate professional inspection. Prompt attention prevents further damage and ensures reliable operation.

Installing a light switch takes 30 minutes or less, on average. The installation time depends on the switch type, with dimmer switches requiring additional time compared to standard on-off switches. While the hardware replacement might be completed in 15 minutes, it's essential to adhere to safety protocols, like turning off the circuit breaker and verifying there's no power, for a safe and code-compliant installation.
