"Its been a very rainy spring and summer and all the roofers were backed up with work.  I had made apts with two other roofers and followed up with them but they never showed.  One of them I had used before to install gutters and did a good job.  Obviously no indication of reliability. <br /> We had a leak around our chimney that done some damage to the ceiling.  Had a Neighbor tell me they used Stanley who was located in Weaverville, where we live. <br /> Gave Stanley a call on a Friday.  He was friendly and honest telling me they were staked upped and it would be two wks before he could do the work.  I told him OK come give me a quote.  He asked if he could call me Tues when he was coming back from a job to stop and do the bid.  He called me Tues AM and asked if noon would work.  He and Larry showed up did the inspection and gave me a quote of $400.  He said it may be two wks before he could get back but would call with exact dates. <br /> Long story short... it continued to rain everyday.  On July 1, about 9 days later Stanley called and apologized for the weather and asked if they could work July 4th on my roof beause there might be a break in the weather... no such luck for them or me.  Stanley called me on July 3rd and said with the projected weather (rain) could he shoot for Saturday at 7:30 am.  It looked like a break in the weather and he wanted to get a couple of repairs out of the way. <br /> Saturday morning Larry showed up with four guys at 7:30am.  They worked for 3 hrs with hit an miss sprinkles but managed to get the work done.  Larry explained that there was some edge caulking on the flashing that need dryer weather to hold but that it was sealed well and they would return to make the sure the edge seams were done.   <br /> The work was fast and they were very professional.  The new flashing is working well and looks good.  Still need them to follow up on the edges.  <br /> I would recommend them to anyone.  Honest, fair price, great clean up  and good customer contact which you dont get from many builders, roofers, plumbers or electricians. <br />"

"Our house was built in 1940 with all-plaster walls & ceilings. As with all things time takes its toll. By the time I contacted Michael at Right Building, numerous stress cracks had formed in the walls and in the ceilings in at least three of the rooms in our downstairs living area and the paint had begun to chip and crack. Michael was contacted for an estimate and despite his busy schedule showed up on the day scheduled right on time. Unlike some home repair specialists who would be content to simply address the issues discussed  he immediately wanted to look at the joists on the floor above to ensure structural stability and make sure the damage was purely cosmetic. After scheduling with both he and his painter, Pedro, a few weeks in advance (they are in high demand), they arrived on the appointed day at the appointed time and promptly got to work, and work they did - quickly, efficiently and most of all in the cleanest fashion I've ever seen work like this done. I've encountered my fair share of drywall mudding and the subsequent sanding involved - it is a dusty, messy experience. After each of the three days Pedro worked, there was no dust, there was no mess - we simply had no cracks in our freshly painted walls and ceilings - it was as spotless a job as there could be. Amazing work. In addition, the speed with which this was accomplished was impressive. The above was completed in three days covering rooms measuring a total of almost 2000 square feet, and four hours a day on average at that. They don't drag their feet to pump up labor costs. Critical for people like us on a budget. I highly recommend Michael and Right Building. They gave us as much attention to detail as they would a much larger job that would get them in upwards of $30,000 or more. Hire them. Before we call them to come do the rest of our house! <br />"

"What I wasn't happy with was the insulation strip between the two windows. I have white trim, and they put in a dark strip of insulation. It looks awful. I told them that if they couldn't do things the way they were done previously, they needed to inform me of the changes that needed to be made. I requested the owner call me to discuss the issue, and he has not called me back. There are also remnants of glue left that they did not clean up."

"Did a great roofing job, replacing an 18 year old leaking roof, at a very competitive price. We have a very large roof (140 squares or 14,000 square feet). The main part of the job was completed in two days. The follow up was great with 1.) additional nail pick up, 2.) reinstalling the gutter screens in the manner that should have been done 18 years ago and 3.) replacing the shingles where the satellite internet provider had to move the dish after the new roof was installed. Two additional comments: - I wish my builder would have used this company. - Now I can enjoy listening to the rain on my roof!"

"I would highly recommend Air Vent Exteriors for your window installation. We purchased an older home that needed all windows replaced and Air Vent came in at a competitive price, were very responsive and professional, they kept me in the loop on the delivery date since everything had been delayed due to Covid, and did a great job installing the windows."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Asheville, NC

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
