"This will be a bit of a book, TLDR; DO NOT HIRE. I allege that, through negligence, they injured my dog, endangered my children, damaged my property, and installed a defective product, poorly. I base this review solely on my experience with the information available to me. I hired Evolve Egress for a test run replacing two windows in Spring ?25. They had skilled tradesmen do the install, and everything went great. I then hired them to replace the rest of my windows, and requested the same crew. A week before install they told me the best guy quit, but I would still be very happy with the guy coming. Day of install comes and they have brought 1099, unskilled labor, that usually completes Commercial projects. All was well, until I left my home. When I came home and asked why the craftsmanship was not on par with the spring job, they left without cleaning ANYTHING. There was a 3 foot line of debris around my entire home. They left every window ?shimmed? overnight, unsealed. You could se"

"Be very careful when purchasing from this company. During our sales appointment, we were told the windows would qualify for the federal energy tax credit. Based on that, we moved forward and spent over $13,000. After installation, when preparing our taxes and reviewing the NFRC specifications, we learned the windows do not qualify. When I contacted customer service, I was told the contract does not guarantee tax credit eligibility ? yet the contract says nothing about tax credit qualification either way. We were never offered an option that would have met the qualifying standard. For a purchase this large, we expected better transparency. We will not use this company again and recommend others verify tax credit eligibility before signing."

"Poor installation quality, lack of follow up for warranty coverage. They sub out to local contracts with apparently no quality controls. Gunner put on a new roof, new siding, new front doors, and new gutters. Not one of those was done to complete satisfaction. They covered my dryer vent with Hardie board which could have caused a fire if I didn't smell the burning smell while I was doing laundry. My front 2 doors came in the wrong size after 8 weeks and they had to reorder which took another 8 weeks. Finally, the doors were installed improperly: surrounding trim too short, covered a gap under the step with flashing, and didn't align the doors properly. The flat roof part had to be redone 3 times and it still wasn't properly installed. The property manager at the time, who has since left, was very nice and gave me $1500 credit. I had 2 other roofers out since to look at the problem and both said the flashing was installed improperly and they have to pull off boards etc and this will co"

"Service was fine. My house was washed. A year and a half later charged $200 because I didn't do more business with them. Had a tech out too as they continuously called me to schedule service making me believe had purchased an annual power wash. Guy came out said it was just a sales call so I sent him away. If I'd been informed while he was here that it I didn't act before a certain date I would be charged I would've been able to make a more educated decision."

"BUYER BEWARE: I purchase a custom door from Pella back in Nov 2021. The salesman was great, and he took a credit card payment for half the amount (3750.00) before leaving and scheduled my install for June 2022. There was a delay in getting the door put in, but the day that it was put in, 2 men showed up. One was younger and the other was an older gentleman. The older gentleman did not speak English, so I communicated through the younger man during the process of install. When install was over, the younger man asked how I wanted to pay. I stated that I wanted to pay with credit card. He informed me it was too late in the day to pay with card (Why didn’t he ask me prior to them shutting off payments? How would I know there was a deadline when I paid the deposit even later during the initial payment?). He asked if I had a check, and I stated no, that my checkbook was at the barn where my daughters horse is located. He mentioned that I could pay the next day over the phone, but it really needed to be settled that day. So, I went into the safe and got out 4000.00 I had from selling our previous family horse a few months prior. I put the money in an envelope and walked it outside. The older man was loading trash and debris into the back on the truck, and I handed him the envelope and told him thank you. The envelope contained the payment and a 250.00 tip, due to the guys working outside in the heat all day. He shook his head and smiled and we went our separate ways. About a week later I get a phone call from Pella asking for my payment. I explained that I gave the older man cash, and the situation. They stated that they would check with the installers and get back to me. To my surprise, they called back and said they didn’t have the money!!! I was shocked! I told them that the man was loading trash when we gave it to him, so maybe it ended up in the back of the truck. They checked into that, and found out that it had not. At this point I am starting to realize I was stolen from by Pella employees/contractors. Did the guy not tell me about the credit card machine so I would have to pay another way? Did the man I gave the money to think it was all a tip because he couldn’t speak English and didn’t understand me? I am very upset. About a week later I get a call from someone from corporate telling me I have to pay the balance or they will be taking me to court! WHAT? Your installers stole from me, and now you are requiring me to PAY again? I am just a single person, this is a HUGE company. 3750.00 is make or break for my family. This company makes millions. And they are coming after me for money that their installers did not report as paid? I am not sure what kind of company abides by this lack of morals and customer services, but I am appalled. I would recommend that no one use them, unless you want to be scammed, stolen from, or gone after in court to repay something you already did. DO NOT BUY!"

"We searched for over a year for a contractor we could afford and one we felt comfortable with. Custom Touch Homes was recommended by a friend of a friend and we couldn't be happier with the results. Our original project was a complete remodel of our master bath. Steve (Hale) made suggestions on our design that we had not considered with fantastic results. We were so pleased we hired them to do our second bath with the same awesome results. Steve & Jason are easy to work with and take pride in their work. The other guys on the job were also very conscientious. I would not hesitate to use Custom Touch Homes again."

FAQs for new windows service projects in Ashland, OH

Yes, bay windows add value to a home. They enhance the property by expanding the interior space and flooding rooms with natural light. Their unique three-panel design creates a stunning focal point that elevates curb appeal and modernizes living areas. This architectural detail increases both functional space and visual appeal, directly contributing to higher home resale value.

Yes, all window types have the potential to become part of a bay window configuration when modified correctly. The transformation involves reconfiguring standard windows into a multi-panel design that features a larger central window flanked by smaller ones. This process requires precise professional planning and custom framing to ensure durability, visual balance, and structural integrity.

Bay windows typically consist of three glass panels extending beyond the home's exterior walls, with a larger center panel flanked by two smaller ones. In contrast, bow windows are composed of four to six equally sized glass panels that create a gentle curve and do not extend as far from the exterior walls.

Bay windows cost more than standard windows because their expansive, multi-panel design requires additional materials and skilled labor. Their construction involves extra glass, specialized frame components that extend outward, and complex operating mechanisms. These technical demands necessitate precise engineering and multiple expert installations, thereby significantly increasing both material and labor expenses.

Bay windows cost three times more than standard double-hung windows because their design requires extra panels, expanded framing, and a more complex installation process. The advanced construction method increases material consumption and demands comprehensive expertise, while specialized window treatments further elevate expenses. This all results in a significant difference in overall project cost.
