"I have used T n T for both personal and business projects, They have done several jobs for the interior design firm that I work for in addition to refinishing a dining table for my home. All work has been completed with amazing results and David and his team are so great to work with. I highly recommend T n T for any furniture refinishing or repairs."

Customers say: Quality work

"Jerry and his crew did a wonderful job. My wife and I could not be happier. He transformed some very well made but outdated solid wood furniture into masterpieces again. They look better than they ever did and the finish is no longer outdated. Jerry was fantastic to work with from start to finish. Very responsive and did everything he said and more. This went down to finding a way to preserve the original Tom Seely seals on multiple pieces to adding in new pegs on table attachments. Also, it is clear that he has a process to estimate costs that matches well to the amount of work that has to be done. He is not just throwing dollar estimates out there and the estimates he does provide are very fair and reasonable, especially for the quality of work his team delivers. Most importantly the estimate provided matched the final cost. No surprises Finally he was helpful and talked through different options with us which helped us make good color decisions, harder than it seems. The pieces he did for us look amazing. We will send any future refinishing jobs his way for sure"

Small jobs welcome

"Paul went above and beyond to ensure I knew what he was doing, how it would be done, and how long it would take. The furniture came back better than I thought it would. I am thinking about other furniture I could have him refinish. Wonderful work!!!"

"Rusty did superior work for us, refinishing our kitchen table right in our house. He was prompt, showing up at our house right on time, and getting the table refinished quickly and efficiently. He made the process move very smoothly, and took extra precautions to protect our walls and floors during the refinishing. The table looks great, and our friends and family noticed the improvements right away. Overall, I cannot say enough good things about Walker Furniture Services - they did exceptional work at a reasonable price, and the entire task could not have been easier for us. Outstanding company - highly recommend! "

"I have used T-n-T Refinishing for 2 projects in the past year and have been extremely pleased with the quality of work done, turnaround time and price. I had a bad experience with another refinishing company in the past and was hesitate to try another. When I took my table to T-n-T's place of business, I asked to see other work that they had done. David was very patient in showing and explaining projects that were in his shop and I decided to have him do my table. We were extremely pleased with the final product and, as a result, decided to have him refinish an antique piano also. We will not hesitate to take other projects to David and highly recommend to others. The cost for the table was $250 and the piano was $1700."

"I was given an appointment window between 4 -6:30 PM. David arrived shortly after 4 and in a matter of minutes had the recliner completely taken apart. He removed the broken springs and clips and replaced them with furniture webbing, put the chair back together, and left the floor cleaner than it was before he started. All in slightly more than an hour. Who says Doctors don't make house calls? These guys do the work in your home so no trying to move bulky furniture out the door and into the truck you rented or borrowed, then waiting weeks for it to be fixed, then wrestled back through your front door. A great value, and experience, in every way. Don't bother looking any further. Call Dr. Furniture. You won't be sorry! <br />"

"We were very relaxed regarding the time frame -- it was more important to us that the job be done right rather than quickly. Mike kept us informed, stuck to his original quote (though I have a feeling this took more work than he let on)"

FAQs for furniture refinish projects in Baltimore, MD

A complete table refinishing project requires between four and eight days from start to finish. The actual hands-on work takes between two and 10 hours, with the remaining time dedicated to drying periods between applications. The stripping and sanding phases demand the most active labor, while applying finishes requires patience as each layer dries completely before proceeding.

Several elements influence dining table refinishing costs, with size being the primary factor. Larger tables or those with extensions require more materials and labor time. The wood type matters significantly—hardwoods may need specialized treatment compared to softer woods. The table's current condition also impacts pricing, as damaged surfaces need repairs before refinishing can begin.

Refinishing often proves more economical than purchasing a comparable quality replacement. Professional table refinishing costs between $150 and $400 on average, while preserving the original craftsmanship and character of your piece.

This approach makes particular sense for well-constructed wood furniture that would be expensive to replace with similar quality. For sentimental pieces or antiques, refinishing also maintains their history and personal value.

Professional furniture refinishers charge between $40 and $100 per hour for their services. This rate varies based on geographic location, the refinisher's experience level, and the complexity of the project. Some professionals offer project-based pricing rather than hourly rates, especially for standard-sized pieces like coffee tables or end tables. When requesting quotes, ask whether the estimate includes materials or represents labor costs only.

For tables with minor wear, you can sometimes refresh the appearance without complete stripping and sanding. Using gel stains and wipe-on finishes can address surface issues while preserving the existing finish underneath. This approach works best for tables with light cosmetic damage rather than those with deep scratches or damaged finishes. However, proper stripping and sanding remain necessary for comprehensive restoration or significant color changes for professional-quality results.
