Small jobs welcome

"I have used him for multiple jobs and I have always been satisfied with the work. He's who I regularly call when I need help with just about anything. He's replaced flooring, built custom furniture, and has even helped with some automotive issues. A man of many hats, for sure!"

"I dropped off the chairs (Saving Approx $70 in p/u and delivery fees) and stated that I needed them back within a month (when guests would be arriving for the holidays). Estimate to repair and re-glue was $70 per chair (plus tax). This was cheaper than 3 other furniture repair places - sent photos of the chairs to all before they gave me the estimates. I called back 3 weeks later and was told that they were ready for pick up. Chairs repaired, no issues, have used constantly for 3 months and no creaking or indication that repairs are not permanent."

"Floor plans were drawn after measuring and discussing what type of cabinets and floor plan were best.
Upon signing the contract we picked out the cabinet draw fronts, color, undercouinter lights, and hardware.
After the existing cabinets and furdown were removed, the cabinets and hardware were installed.
Then the crown molding and finishing touches were added."

"Went beautifully. The contractor talk to me about what I wanted. Gave me options. I originally wanted a shed roof not gable. The framing crew convinced me gable addition would be easier and it wouldn’t cost anymore or compromise my square footage. I was even able to have the addition skinned in aluminum siding that matched my existing siding."

FAQs for furniture refinish projects in Memphis, TN

A complete table refinishing project requires between four and eight days from start to finish. The actual hands-on work takes between two and 10 hours, with the remaining time dedicated to drying periods between applications. The stripping and sanding phases demand the most active labor, while applying finishes requires patience as each layer dries completely before proceeding.

Several elements influence dining table refinishing costs, with size being the primary factor. Larger tables or those with extensions require more materials and labor time. The wood type matters significantly—hardwoods may need specialized treatment compared to softer woods. The table's current condition also impacts pricing, as damaged surfaces need repairs before refinishing can begin.

Refinishing often proves more economical than purchasing a comparable quality replacement. Professional table refinishing costs between $150 and $400 on average, while preserving the original craftsmanship and character of your piece.

This approach makes particular sense for well-constructed wood furniture that would be expensive to replace with similar quality. For sentimental pieces or antiques, refinishing also maintains their history and personal value.

Professional furniture refinishers charge between $40 and $100 per hour for their services. This rate varies based on geographic location, the refinisher's experience level, and the complexity of the project. Some professionals offer project-based pricing rather than hourly rates, especially for standard-sized pieces like coffee tables or end tables. When requesting quotes, ask whether the estimate includes materials or represents labor costs only.

For tables with minor wear, you can sometimes refresh the appearance without complete stripping and sanding. Using gel stains and wipe-on finishes can address surface issues while preserving the existing finish underneath. This approach works best for tables with light cosmetic damage rather than those with deep scratches or damaged finishes. However, proper stripping and sanding remain necessary for comprehensive restoration or significant color changes for professional-quality results.
