"Tim worked magic on those chairs. He help me with the fabric selection and I couldn’t be happier with the finished product. They also did a wonderful job on cleaning up the wooden trim on the chairs. They look absolutely brand new. And they are so comfortable to sit on. I highly recommend Furniture Pros!"

"Queen Anne Upholstery was very professional from start to finish. Karen met with us to review the requirements of each piece. She brought several fabric books and understood the look we wanted to achieve. The initial work involved 3 pieces of furniture - taking about 6 weeks to complete. Delivery time and arrival were communicated well so that we knew exactly when they were arriving. We were 100% satisfied so we had 2 additional pieces of furniture repaired and refinished. One piece was delivered that we felt needed a little more refinishing and they completed the work with no hesitation. We highly recommend this company. <br />"

"About 4 years ago they build a custom painted vanity for the main bath. Excellent quality and on time. He helped improve our initial design. Added a big drawer and shelf inside the main cabinet, greatly increasing usable storage space. All the drawer glides have continued to work extremely well. This past fall we had no concerns about returning for a second vanity made with cherry wood. It's beautiful. The grain in all the exposed surfaces is extremely nice. All the joints are tight and precise. Added recesses in the back panel to allow installation of the deepest/longest glides possible. I have no reservations in recommending Pioneer Woodworks for any project you have in mind. Not just cabinets; I've seen many beautiful pieces in their front room when I've visited to order and pickup."

"Over the years, I have had about 20 chairs repaired by Rick and a couple of tables. He is very responsible and does a good job. Caning is not inexpensive; it takes a lot of hand work, which takes time. If the furniture is painted, he will match the paint, if necessary, and touch up the paint."

"<p>This contractor was very helpful with my choice of fabrics and ordered large samples for my final approval. My furniture was picked up as scheduled, to coordinate with replacement of my condominium carpeting, and delivered on the promised date. I provided a down payment of half the contract for ordering of materials and the remaining fee upon delivery. He even included a senior discount without my asking! I have been thoroughly delighted with the outcome of the work and extremely satisfied with the quality of workmanship. I am currently planning to have this contractor reupholster the seats of my dining room chairs. I offer an unqualified recommendation to anyone in need of upholstery work. Willy has long experience in his profession and is very pleasant to work with. </p> <br />"

"Very professional and great to work with. They did a beautiful job refinishing the couch and consulted with us on every little detail. They have done some previous refinishing work for us and it has been a great experience every time. They are expensive, but in my view it's worth the extra expense to work with someone you know will do a great job. (note that the cost includes the upholstery fabric, which is also expensive) <br />"

FAQs for furniture refinish projects in Seattle, WA

A complete table refinishing project requires between four and eight days from start to finish. The actual hands-on work takes between two and 10 hours, with the remaining time dedicated to drying periods between applications. The stripping and sanding phases demand the most active labor, while applying finishes requires patience as each layer dries completely before proceeding.

Several elements influence dining table refinishing costs, with size being the primary factor. Larger tables or those with extensions require more materials and labor time. The wood type matters significantly—hardwoods may need specialized treatment compared to softer woods. The table's current condition also impacts pricing, as damaged surfaces need repairs before refinishing can begin.

Refinishing often proves more economical than purchasing a comparable quality replacement. Professional table refinishing costs between $150 and $400 on average, while preserving the original craftsmanship and character of your piece.

This approach makes particular sense for well-constructed wood furniture that would be expensive to replace with similar quality. For sentimental pieces or antiques, refinishing also maintains their history and personal value.

Professional furniture refinishers charge between $40 and $100 per hour for their services. This rate varies based on geographic location, the refinisher's experience level, and the complexity of the project. Some professionals offer project-based pricing rather than hourly rates, especially for standard-sized pieces like coffee tables or end tables. When requesting quotes, ask whether the estimate includes materials or represents labor costs only.

For tables with minor wear, you can sometimes refresh the appearance without complete stripping and sanding. Using gel stains and wipe-on finishes can address surface issues while preserving the existing finish underneath. This approach works best for tables with light cosmetic damage rather than those with deep scratches or damaged finishes. However, proper stripping and sanding remain necessary for comprehensive restoration or significant color changes for professional-quality results.
