"We live in a daylight basement of a 3 story home we share with family members. We had a ceiling leak and didn't know whether to call a plumber or hvac professional. On advice from a friend, I went with a plumber who we found through Home Advisor - Platinum Plumbing. They came the next day, lifted the ceiling tile to determine the location of the water leak. They determined it wasn't a plumbing leak, but an hvac leak. They informed me that the original contractor had never sealed the hvac pipe coming from the stove exhaust fan vent from the floor above. They said that condensation from that vent was the reason for the water leakage. Though it wasn't technically a plumbing problem, they offered to seal the hvac pipe with a sealant preventing future condensation leaks. They charged me $140 which was the hvac fee which was lower than a plumbing fee. I am pleased! They gave me names of 2 local hvac repair companies if we needed. For future plumbing issues, we will not hesitate to call Platinum Plumbing again. We have learned to trust the professionals we have used from Home Advisor.
