"It was a scam. The price was too good to be true. My AC was not working and all I needed was someone to take a look and see what needs to be fixed. The cost quoted was $59. I even scheduled the appt. But once I called them for something, they said the appt process through Angie's list does not work and the $59 is only for changing the filter or something silly like that and I had to upgrade to the $89. But for the $89, the guy did spend time with me explaining what is wrong and if its worth fixing or not. So, why advertise as $59 with bunch of details that you won't even perform?"

They have been great. They helped me out a lot. They came out pretty quickly and helped me decide what I needed to do. They got the work scheduled and were able to come out on short notice. They took care of a couple of things right away. Ultimately we were very happy with the equipment they helped us select so, everything -- service, equipment, follow up, scheduling -- and the people they sent out here were terrific too.

"We actually called this company out on the previous Sunday.  We were getting small gas explosions whenever the furnace turned on.  We first called out PG&E, and their field-service person red-tagged the furnace and said that we would have to call out a professional service to deal with the repairs.
The company owner came out promptly on Sunday and inspected our furnace, and gave us an estimate of about $500 to repair it; he clearly and thoroughly described what the issues were and what needed to be replaced.  However, the furnace was over 40 years old, and he suggested that I consider replacing rather than dumping that much into interim repairs.  His comments seemed reasonable to me, so I agreed with him and asked for an estimate for the work, which was $2600 for everything involved.  Once I heard that, I was *very* pleased, because when we previously got a quote to replace it, the other company (no longer recall who) had wanted over $4000!!!
Anyway, his workers came out yesterday, arriving a few minutes before the 0800 appointment, got immediately to work, and had the entire job done in 5 hours.  They did immaculate work, didn't mind me watching over their shoulders as they worked, and I am quite pleased with all of their work.
We also love the new furnace!!!  We never realized before, how weak the old blower was; the house heats up *amazingly* fast now, and it has an electronic ignition, so we don't need to worry about pilot lights any more.  The reason I'm mentioning the equipment is to communicate that they clearly choose good-quality equipment to install.

"Jaime, the bid coordinator, had my wife sign a contract and acknowledge the 3-day **cooling** period. He indicated that he would have the office staff contact us to get us on the calendar. He accepted a credit card payment for the down payment. As far as I can tell, the paperwork was never turned in to scheduling as, after many days of waiting, I had to call them for an appointment. Additonally, on the day of the appointment, they were unable to find the signed contract and that had to be redone. I found the office staff professional and 5 star Pacific Coast Home Services charges a 3% or 3.5% service charge for using a credit card. I understand for a **mom-and-pop store** this might be okay, but for a company the size and scope of Pacific Coast Home Services, the service charge for credit card use is inappropriate and part of doing business. Thus, the companys Administration gets an overall rating of **2 stars** I found Justin, the Electrical Technician who did the work, **5 star**. He was professional, personable, and helpful. In total and on average, I give Pacific Coast Home Services **3 stars** I feel safe with the work they accomplished, but I would recommend getting competing quotes from other providers before deciding."
