"Predatory Sales and Subpar Quality Mad City's process is predatory from start to finish. Three hours of high-pressure sales tactics in my own home, even after I repeatedly stated I needed to discuss it with my husband. After the installation the field manager acknowledging the wave and gaps in the wall, he told me that while it didn't meet my expectations, it met their "standard of error." Let that sink in: Mad City Bath?s official policy is that crooked and wavy is good enough. If you value your money, or want a shower that is actually square and plumb, stay far away from this company. They perform subpar work, hide behind automated phone lines when things go wrong, and will abandon you the moment they have your money. Hire a reputable contractor instead."

"My sales rep was Andrew Connolly. He gave me a great presentation and offered me lots of options. My installer, Will Underwood was very kind and courteous. He explained the installation to me very well and answered all my questions. He installed the whole shower including moving the drain to the middle. He had a plumber come help briefly. He extended the shower walls all the way up my 9-foot walls to the ceiling and even installed a ceiling piece that is very nice. It covers the ceiling over the entire shower. The whole shower shines beautifully, and the hardware is very good quality and beautiful brushed nickel. I love my long grab bars. One bar is angled so you can easily grab it while in a seated position. I did not have a bench installed but will get a chair eventually. I highly recommend Mad City because they were very professional and respectful from beginning to end, and I can't wait to use my new shower!!"

"Awesome, Joe was a true professional and did exactly what he said he would do installing our LVP. He explained that he would use floor leveling and what we should expect since our sub floor was so unlevel. It turned out great! We plan on calling him for future projects."

FAQs for walk in tub installation and replacement projects in Big Bend, WI

Because Medicare classifies walk-in tubs as non-durable medical equipment, it generally won’t pick up the tab. Medicaid can help if a doctor certifies that the tub is medically necessary, but rules change by state. Call your plan early, ask which forms you need, and keep any prescriptions or letters on file to improve your odds of reimbursement.

A walk-in bathtub’s fill and drain times hinge on your home’s water pressure and the tub’s hardware. Most models with a fast-fill faucet need about six to eight minutes to fill and two to three minutes to drain; larger basins or standard drains can tack on an extra 10 minutes. Stay seated until the water is completely gone so you don’t swing the door open on a full tub’s worth of water.

A walk-in bathtub holds 50 gallons of water, and its design supports capacities that range from 40 to 80 gallons, depending on the product. In contrast, a standard bathtub holds 25 to 45 gallons. This capacity is determined by the fixed design of the tub and its construction materials. Homeowners should review the detailed product specifications to confirm the exact volume available for use during bath time.

Walk-in tubs are tax-deductible when the purchase qualifies as a necessary medical expense and meets the IRS criteria. Caregivers who install a walk-in tub also qualify for the Dependent Care Tax Credit under specific conditions. Homeowners must verify these requirements with the IRS and consult a tax professional, as state and program guidelines enforce strict documentation standards for such deductions.
