"Wanted a sprinkler system for the lawn and flower beds. Had 4 estimates, WaterWorks came in the middle as far as pricing but offered a better warranty and I liked the sales guy. Install happened in 3 and a half hours. I was surprised by the efficiency of the crew. Lawn barely looks touched. I'm very happy and am recommending them to my neighbors."

"Scheduling the appointment was easy. Service man, Bob, called before his arrival which was in the early part of the window that I was given. Problem was located and fixed quickly. Clean up of the area was completed. Service man also inspected another problem which had arisen since the appointment was scheduled. He was able to diagnose the problem quickly and provide a solution."

"In the spring of 2012, I had called another irrigation system provider to come out and do the spring startup of my sprinkler system. It also required a RPZ valve test and certification. The other company did not send out their plumber to certify the valve and I was under pressure from the village to have it certified. <br /> I called Freedom Plumbing and Heating to come out and test the valve as soon as possible. They came out that afternoon! <br /> Steve(?) was very professional and took his job seriously. I stood outside and talked with him while he performed the test and we discussed the sprinkler system and the purposes of the RPZ valve. He explained everything in detail and explained why plumbers needed to do the certification. <br /> When fall arrived, Freedom called me to find out if I wanted my sprinkler system shut down for the season. Of course, I said and quot;yesand quot;. <br /> They shut down the sprinkler system on Halloween, and we again stood outside while I handed out candy to the trick-or-treaters. We swapped Halloween stories while the water was blown out of the pipes. Steve again handled the work professionally and efficiently. <br />"

"I felt they could've aerated a little more. They went very quickly and missed a lot of areas. We have had them for fertilizing. They fertilize when it's going to be a downpour of rain. It's like, "Oh, come on, that's washing right off!" Maybe if you're putting pellets down, I don't care, but if you are spraying it with the liquid, that's going to wash right off. If you know it's going to rain, don't treat my yard. There are young kids that do the service. Some of them are very professional. Some of them are so-so. You don't always have the same person doing the yard. It changes from time to time. You could build the relationship with the person doing your yard. That would be amazing. We still had some weeds. We have had better service with other companies in the past. One little weed I can handle. There was way more than one. They just show up. No rhyme or reason. They just put a flag in your yard. There is no punctuality when you don't know when they're coming. I told my husband, call them and tell them don't show up again until we agree on a price. We have 3 neighbors. They do all 3 at the same time. They tend to give us a better price to do them all at the same time."

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Big Rock, IL

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
