"We had a main water line leak between two houses on our property. We received 4 estimates to replace the pipe. All recommended replacing vs trying to repair the pipe. Advanceds’ estimate wasn't the lowest, there was one lower estimate but we elected to go with them because their technicians (Jason and Taz) were so helpful and so pleasant. We felt we could trust them to do a good job as quoted and do it on time. This job was difficult as the main line lies underground beneath asphalt driveway and lawn. The asphalt and the lawn are separated by a low wooden retaining wall. The plan was to dig a trench straight through from house to house and replace the existing pipe with a new pipe. We would later have to repave the trench which would be roughly 50’ long. In addition, we would probably have to rebuild the older retaining wall. The day of the project the owner of the company, Sam, studied the situation and came up with a different plan. He and his team were able to push the pipe through the sleeve which held the broken pipe!! This prevented any need to dig!! No digging!! No breaking up the asphalt, no need to repave, no need to reseed the lawn, no need to fix the retaining wall!! Done. In a matter of hours. Can you imagine our relief? Our actual invoice was for less than half of what was originally quoted. Sam also saved us a lot of money in future repaving and possibly repairing the short retaining wall costs. Sam is not only very knowledgable but is a man with integrity. My feeling throughout this experience with Advanced is that we were all on the same team. Props as well to Isha who works in the office. Isha patiently answered all of our questions and was helpful all around. All scheduling was quick and punctual and we were kept in the loop through it all. A great team who take pride in their work! We highly recommend Advanced Professional."

"

Came promptly at appointment  time

Completed the hot water heater flush and set the temperature for me.

Checked all plumbing connections and made recommendations about what was good and what needed attention

Gave me a written estimate of what recommended repairs would cost if I chose to do them.

No pressure from them to do them now.

Very courteous and pleasant.

"They gave me an estimate of from $8,000 to $13,000. They were professional and fast, and they did an excellent job of replacing our badly clogged sewer line. They explained that they could either replace the existing line (which ran under the front of the house and would have involved removing the front porch) or put a new line through the side yard (which would involve drilling through the basement wall). We decided on the second option. The only problem I had was that, instead of a lawn, we had a 15-year-old perennial garden planted along that side of the house. This was an unusual dilemma, and the reason this job cost more than the average sewer line replacement probably had a lot to do with the fact that there were so many plants in the way. The crew took out several bushes, set them aside, and promised that after they were done, they would replace them and try their best to put the garden back together. But I think that when they got down to it, it was just too complicated and time-consuming. They told me that a lot of the plants just had to be taken out with their backhoe and couldn't be saved. There had been a rock garden and a brick walkway, and they didn't remember later where the bricks had come from, so they ended up hastily replanting four large bushes, and that was it. They had rolled over my neighbor's grass with the backhoe, and they just kind of left that. I felt that, given how much I was paying them, they probably should have consulted a landscaper or asked someone from a plant nursery to come over for several hours, re-sod (or at least reseed) my neighbor's lawn, and do a little better job of sorting out my garden. In the end, they kind of left in a hurry. They did not meet with me again to talk about the whole thing, and I did not have a chance to say that I was not happy with the way they left the garden. They were excellent with fixing the sewer line. I rated them highly because what I hired them to do had nothing to do with my garden, and I thought they were really good overall."

"John is fantastic to work with and is always prompt with his service. I’ve had him do everything from replacing a grinder pump in our cistern or literally getting a toilet unclogged. I would highly recommend calling him for any plumbing needs you might have."

"It went very well, they came out and gave me a price, pulled the permits and did all the work.  It took 2 weeks from walk through to date of execution to get an estimate, agree on a price, get cops to block traffic and pull permits.  All of the actual work was done in 1 day.  Went as planned and I got water restored to my buildings."

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Branchville, NJ

Sewer line replacement costs range from $50 to $250 per linear foot. Your replacement costs rise or fall based on material quality, installation complexity, and the specialized equipment crews need for excavation. Deeper lines cost more to access, and choosing budget-friendly PVC piping rather than premium copper also shifts the final price.

A sewer sleeve repairs cracked or damaged sections of a sewer pipe without the need for excavation. In this process, technicians insert a cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) liner, saturated with epoxy, to seal defects and restore the pipe’s integrity. This approach protects your yard, trims repair time, and adds years to your sewer system’s life—all while delivering reliable results.

Newer homes use durable PVC and ABS piping that offer smooth interiors and effective clog prevention at an affordable cost. Older homes use materials such as copper, Orangeburg, clay, cast iron, or lead, which require a licensed plumber’s inspection to confirm safety and performance. This clear distinction impacts maintenance and overall system reliability.

Red flags include persistent clogs, recurring sewage backups, and unexplained spikes in utility bills. Strong sulfur odors, bubbling drains, and visible sewage in the yard serve as unmistakable warning signs. These symptoms demand immediate professional inspection and repair to prevent further property damage and health hazards, ensuring the system operates safely.

All sewer line projects require permits because strict sanitary and biohazard regulations mandate regulatory approval. Homeowners must secure permits, incurring a specific permit fee of $200 in addition to contractor costs. A licensed professional or local building department manages the permitting process, ensuring the work complies with all legal requirements before the project begins.

A clogged sewer line is not covered by standard homeowner’s insurance policies because these policies exclude damage from regular wear, tear, and neglect. In cases of accidental damage—such as when tree roots block the line—certain policies provide coverage. Homeowners must review their policy details or consult with their insurance provider to confirm the coverage terms.
