"We had some sewage back up into our basement sink on a Saturday morning. I called Clog Busters based on their Angie’s List reviews. They didn’t have a crew available on the weekend, but were available on the following Monday. The crew did a great job explaining the problem and finding a solution for me. Great customer service and they earned their money working in some frigid and snowy weather. I hope to never have another sewer backup, but if I do, I will call Clog Busters."

"Bill was very responsive and came out to assist on Saturday. He was punctual, and addressed our immediate concern about clearing the drain. He did suggest that if there was an ongoing problem to call him back, considering the way the pipes were configured. A few days later, we had a similar issue, and Bill worked to get his team back to my location, and within a few hours, the pipes were reconfigured, the drain was snaked to the street, and the water was draining faster than it ever had! The price was fair, and the job was completed - WITHOUT having suggested a huge upfront cost, they tried to keep the repair limited to what was truly needed. Call Bill!"

"My daughter had a back water valve fail at her house. She had sewer water coming up the basement drain. JD called me within minutes of my inquiry on Angie's list. He was the first one to call and I'm glad he did. He was very patient and explained everything, took pictures and helped us every step of the way. I also appreciated knowing that he had daughters. This is my daughter's first home and it is hard to find someone to trust."

"Do your homework first. Check with your city to find out where your sewer line connects to the main. This is the only way to know in advance if repair/replacement work will cross water or gas supply, then when you get a quote you and the company you hire know up front what the situation is and can agree on expectations and costs. Get more than one quote. Don't believe any contractor saying they will leave the site ready to throw grass seed. If the job requires digging up your yard, you will be left with a total mess requiring either a landscape professional to fix it up ($$$) or many days of hard labor on your part."

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Bridgewater, MI

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
