"They were lengthening my Driveway. They had done the driveway 4 years ago and had done a very good job. I rehired then to extend the driveway. In the process the machines they used damage the old Driveway. They did not tell my wife who was at home or contacted me to tell me. This upset me more than the damage did. I had to text him/ email email him. He did say he would repair and seal coat the driveway. He has partially repaired the driveway, they missed one spot. He is to return in week or two and seal the Driveway. If the damage had not happen I would have given 5 stars"

"We had Gnome remove a portion of a retaining wall and some granite slab steps that had sunk unevenly and were in disrepair. They installed proper drainage and replaced the stones and the wall portions evenly. This project was required by our insurance company and Todd Marco was more than willing to work within the time frame and parameters they had dictated. I would also note that the work was performed to the insurance company's satisfaction. Todd Marco was always responsive, by phone and email, and quickly provided an estimate for us, which was the lowest price we received from three contractors. <br /> I also had Gnome deliver some loam and stone for a regrading/reseeding project. The product was high quality, reasonably priced and delivered in a timely fashion. <br /> I would highly recommend Gnome for any landscaping or masonry project. <br />"

"Hazelwood Handyman was amazing. They were on time, did a great job and came in at the estimated price. One thin guy moved a frig that weighs at least 800 pds- it took 4 movers to put it in place when installed. I was amazed! Highly recommended."

"great .roney was very professional and polite he wasn't pushy    he gave us multiple options for our driveway project. <br /> he explained  about the products  he uses . purpose of sealer and crack filler , was to get a longer life out of our driveway he offered to sealcoat not to pave yet .. he explained our driveway could be saved so our expense was much more reasonable to sealcoat   and crack fill  than to pave at this point .that showed me he wasn't all about money he was honest with me and his estmate  never changed . he was on time    completed his work  , left our yard clean .and did a great job looks great I wasn't disappointed. he said feel free to call him anytime I  recommend him ."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Bridgton, ME

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
