"I live in Saint Joseph MI and CERI did an excellent job finding and removing the mold that was inside our home and finding and removing smaller areas of asbestos. I called because I’ve had chronic allergy problems, with the mold removed from the home and the air quality tested on each floor to find the problems before starting, my allergies are much better. The customer service was an A+ l highly recommend them for anything regarding this type of work. They are not located in this area but you would never know it, they are familiar with this area from other jobs done here. "

"Mike and his team did a great job with testing mastic and then removing asbestos containing tiles from my basement. Price was great, the work was done well, and Mike communicated well throughout the process."

"After reviewing many reviews, Tri-County stood out with indications of consistent high quality service.  This continued with my inspection and I am glad I went with them.  Both Paul and Bill did the inspection and were very thorough.  I was onsite and they took the time to explain any issue they found as well as maintenance items that I should consider.  They definitely went above and beyond!  Paul is very responsive when you call and took the time to walk me through additional general questions I had about asbestos and lead a few days after the inspection (on a weekend!).  Highly recommended. <br />"

"These guys were awesome ! I first talked with them on a Thursday about removing asbestos tile on my porch, on Saturday they showed up exactly on time and got it done quickly. They were professional, knowledgeable, fair priced, and quick. They did the hard part of a project others did not know what to do about. They left the area looking clean like nothing ever happened! I am so grateful! Thank you!"

"Aaron and Tyrone were awesome! We had the misfortune of learning that some of our cold air return ductwork was lined with asbestos, so we had Aaron came out to inspect our basement and give us a quote. He really emphasized making sure that the job was done right and he took plenty of time to explain the process of how the containment areas would be set up, how the asbestos would be removed and disposed of, and how he would clean up. We really liked his enthusiasm, so we hired him to do the job. He and his assistant Tyrone showed up early on Saturday morning and Aaron walked us through the basement again, showing us exactly how he was going to set everything up (including doing some drywall demo work that covered up part of the asbestos). About 3 hours later they were all done without any issues whatsoever. Aaron walked us through the basement again showing us where they'd taken all the asbestos out and everything looked great. Highly recommend using AMC Environmental if you need to have asbestos removed! <br />"

FAQs for asbestos testing projects in Brighton, MI

Asbestos appears as long, thin, or curled mineral fibers that are not visible to the naked eye under normal conditions. Homes constructed before 1989 are more likely to contain this material, so a professional inspection is essential. Because asbestos identification requires specialized techniques, having a certified inspector assess your property is the safest way to confirm its presence and protect your family’s health.

Free asbestos testing services do not exist. You can purchase testing kits online for $30 per unit, and these kits include lab fees, return shipping, consultation, sampling media, and the final results. The results from a kit are less detailed and accurate than those provided by a certified asbestos testing professional. Since collecting a sample exposes you to harmful fibers, hiring a professional is essential to ensure safety and accurate testing.

Receiving asbestos test results takes one to seven days, but different labs offer varying turnaround times. When expedited processing is arranged, the laboratory completes analysis within 24 hours; standard processing requires up to two weeks. Hiring a certified professional ensures that all samples are collected correctly and results are provided without delay, safeguarding your home throughout the process.

Home insurance doesn't often cover asbestos testing and removal. Many policies have a clause called a "pollution exclusion," which means they do not cover indoor pollutants like asbestos. However, your insurance company might cover something like asbestos siding removal costs if it is released due to things beyond your control, such as storm damage.

If a DIY project or accident in your home releases harmful fibers, you must pay for the test and removal.

Yes, you can legally inspect and remove asbestos in your house as long as it's a single-family home and not a multi-family unit. However, the EPA strongly recommends hiring an asbestos abatement pro since testing can be dangerous.

Pros have all the right tools and safety equipment, and you risk breathing in the fibers by taking samples yourself. They also know how to collect samples and safely dispose of materials properly.

Asbestos encapsulation is a process that seals asbestos-containing materials with a protective barrier to prevent the release of harmful fibers. It serves as an alternative to complete removal when full abatement is not necessary. Encapsulation costs between $2 and $6 per square foot, offering a cost-effective option that contains asbestos safely when applied by a certified professional.
