"BEWARE!! J?son took $3,000 cash and never did the job we paid for!!! I am writing this to warn anyone considering hiring Handyman Jay. While the initial repair seemed fine, we have since had a devastating experience. We paid $3,000 cash upfront for a winterization service, which was documented in writing with a deadline of October 1st. He never showed up, never performed the work, and completely stopped responding to our attempts to contact him. Because the work was NEVER DONE, when it recently got cold our pipes froze and lead to significant damage (that we were obviously trying to avoid by paying $3,000 to someone that claims to be a ?professional?). It?s one thing to do a poor job, it?s another to take a large sum of cash and completely abandon what would have been a returning client. Out $3,000 and left with a damaged home. We are currently pursuing legal action, but I thought the public deserved this warning. "

"Overcharged for labor on hot water tank AND installing 2 faucets. Dumped rusted metal from the inside of my broken hot water tank into my floor drain when I clearly have an ejection pump system which caused a terrible clean up issue in my drain. Could not install a new faucet in my ceramic pedestal sink but charged me 2 hours for taking the old faucet out. We are not at all happy with their field plumber who did our inside plumbing. Would never recommend to anyone."

"Absolutely terrible company.  The tech who provided the quote overcharged me for work being done (this was confirmed by another plumbing company); the tech insisted my main bathroom toilet was a lead pipe, even though I've had qualified experts in my home who confirmed it was not a lead pipe, but had to replace it. The tech also left my main bathroom pvc pipes disassembled, causing water damage to the bathroom vanity. This required another plumber to come out and fix it as it was also leaking. I tried to resolve these issues with the office, and both the office and tech took zero ownership of doing anything wrong and refused to do the work unless I paid them another couple hundred dollars on top of the $4000+ worth of work they did. They also failed to inform me that part of the work would have been covered under my home warranty. "

FAQs for faucets, fixtures and pipes repair or replace projects in Canfield, OH

A minor, easily accessible leak can be resolved in about three hours, while a large or hard-to-reach leak may take up to three days. If flooring or cabinets need to be built back, the timeline can run several weeks to cover material deliveries and installation. Every job begins with detection, proceeds to repair, and concludes with restoring your foundation’s strength.

Slab leaks are most common in areas where the ground is in motion, such as those prone to earthquakes or highly expansive soils. In places like California, constant shifting puts stress on foundations and pipes. Stay ahead of trouble by monitoring your water bill, inspecting visible slab edges, and scheduling routine inspections to catch leaks early and maintain your home's safety.

Keep an eye out for damp spots, rising water bills, the sound of running water when taps are off, or staining and sagging along the foundation. Check exposed slab edges during routine walk-arounds and note any uptick in indoor humidity or pest traffic. The moment something looks off, call a pro—fast action protects your slab and wallet.

Most policies cover slab-leak repairs tied to a covered event, such as earthquakes, severe storms, or a fallen tree. They often won’t cover gradual issues, such as root intrusion or corrosion-related pinhole leaks. Every policy is different, so be sure to contact your carrier for the fine print before any problems arise.
