However, in their rush they put a hole in the back of my house with the backhoe and it took them almost 6 months to repair and repaint the damage. "Brandon and Crew (2) were very hard working tackling this huge project. Digging to the foundation, redoing drain tile, sealing and coring walls was all done with quality materials. Brandon explained the process clearly as it progressed. Kept me informed on each day's plan. The clay was rock hard, and much of the job had to be hand dug, but the guys were amazing getting through it. This work is messy and can be brutal on the landscape, but Hart left my place looking better than it started. I made a special request that they save seven, 8 ft tall Burning Bushes and replant. Brandon was very accommodating in staging them elsewhere on the property during the 2 weeks of waterproofing, and then prepping their return to the area. "Jared arrived on time on June 20. I had pictures of the water on the basement floor as well as pictures of my home being built in 2010 to show him what I am concerned about. I have pictures of the entire outside of the foundation before it was back filled. While there he thought that the poured concrete walls and floor was a bad pour. There is a gap between the floor and walls as big as a half inch in some places. Using a moisture meter he said that the walls were too wet. The seams were damp. He noticed the cracked walls. He said that was from pressure from the outside. Probably the back fill wasn't done properly. He thinks the solution is to dig up the entire foundation and redo the back fill. And the space between the floor and walls should have a rubber gasket to stop the water from entering the house. He answered all my questions.
I asked him to include in his report his opinion on what the solution might be. My house is only three years old and still under warranty for construction defects. He said he'd send the report in a few days.
After calling three times, today, eighteen days later I received the "report" from someone else at Municipal. Someone named Mike. It's a one page "circle the right answer" form. Fifteen items. There was no recommendation for a solution. This couldn't be done on site?
I now believe that this inspection deal was just a way to cull new customers for their stamped concrete business. I won't be a customer because I have an awesome paver patio installed by another A rated Angies List service provider.

"A tree branch fell onto my roof and caused a hole. I didn't know about it until I started seeing water marks on my ceiling. I had my son look on the computer and he suggested Spot-On Home Improvements because they had some good reviews. They came out the next day or shortly after and got up on the roof. I knew the likeliness of needing an entirely new roof was good because it had been close to 20 years since the last one was put on and I have a lot of trees over my house. They said they could patch the hole, but they suggested a new roof was better as some shingles were pulling and warping. The price seemed decent (would have liked it lower) but their professionalism and their timing was what sold me. They got the roof done in 3 days and the clean-up was better than I could have imagined. You pay for what you get in this industry and I'm glad I went with them."

Rich Phelps (owner), has provided me with several services over the last several months, including demolition and construction of a new detached garage, installation of a heavy duty drain in front of my attached garage, installation of ceiling access doors in my house, and rough in of a basement washer and dryer.

I can say with no exceptions that Rich's work has been excellent.  He is very concerned about quality, cleanliness, and detail.  The garage he built is getting comments from the neighbors about how good it looks, and that is only from the outside.  He has completely finished the inside, and it looks like a room in my house, not a garage.   He cleaned up everyday after the day's work was finished, and checked in with me regularly to let me know status.  The garage is a showpiece due to Rich's focus on quality and detail.

He did a great job installing the drain in front of my attached garage.  Prior to his work the garage was subject to water coming into it from heavy rains.  (my driveway which slopes into the garage).  After the installation, which also involved concrete work and tieing into existing drainage, there have been no more problems with water (we are just completing a record year for rain, and it is still coming.

All the other work has been done to my complete satisfaction.  In the rare case where something wasn't right, Rich called my attention to it most of the time and then fixed it.  As one small example of Rich's focus on quality during construction of the garage, the bottom of two trusses appeared to be out or alignment by about 1/2 inch.  I didn't even notice it but Rich did, and remedied the situation by cutting the nails holding the trusses that were out of alignment, realigned them, and then renailed them.   He was the only one that noticed it but that was enough.  There are other examples I could give but I believe this illustrates the point.

Rich continues to do work on my house including a closet expansion and remodeling, and nex year we will be building a large deck and screened in porch.  I have already awarded this work to Rich.
