"We had a significant gas leak in mid December and the gas company put in a temporary line that had to be permanently fixed in 10 days. I got multiple estimates, including from Mark Blackburn. Mark was professional, stated this is all they do and are very good at it and gave me an estimate over the phone. He stated the cost and what was included, which made sense to me. All other estimates I received were higher and the companies did not instill the confidence I felt from Mark. I selected Blackburn and was extremely pleased with all aspects. They scheduled a timely replacement, were able to use the existing gas line and not dig up my entire lawn, and were true to the cost (no unexpected costs or nickel and diming). The quality and service was excellent. Thanks Mark."

"Needed to schedule this fairly big job a month in advance which I guess means they are in demand, Jay and crew completed all work in one day, which included backhoe trenching for gas line (90 ft), riser to the house and pipe to the furnace utility area. Also installed manifold for future expansion and pipe to gas fireplace.  Cheerful crew got right to work, didn't waste any time, cleaned up after the job,, good workers would recommend  this company to others. <br />"

"They are excellent, I have been using them for my plumbing work for the last 10 years. They have installed a gas water heater along with a chimney line preventing of the gas lighter heater and Changed filter on whole house filter and reverse osmosis filter and installed new faucet on basement sink. They come regularly to change filters as need. They provided excellent plumbing advise. I recommend them whole heartedly."

"They were the BEST. I called yesterday and they came within a short period of time. It was determined that the pipe under my house was broken and needed to be replaced. They put in an emergency call to One Call yesterday to get the outdoor utilities marked and arrived at 8 am today, dug the hole, pulled the new pipe, and were finished with the job by 1:30pm. They were completely professional and did an excellent job. There was no mess left and I will always call them for any plumbing needs. <br />"

"Excellent. He explained what he was going to do. He could have started the next day, but I delayed the work because I thought my home owners insurance or my mine subsidence insurance would cover the job. Unfortunately, neither did. His company came out and did the work in a professional manner. Within 2 days, I had gas. My gas would have been turned on sooner, but the gas company delayed coming until the next day."

"I've been using Triangle A/C for years to clean / maintain my furnace and central A/C. They're honest, expert, always courteous and professional. They're also reasonably priced. When you call, a person (usually Judy) always answers. They will respond immediately if it's an emergency. I called them a few winters ago when my furnace had stopped working. They responded within an hour, and repaired the furnace the same day. <br />"

"I called them on a Saturday, but they don't work on Saturday's, instead they called me at 8:00 AM Monday morning and told me that they could do the work for me and will be here at 9:00 to 11:00 AM, and they actually came quickly, and they kept their word, they were here when they said they would, when they checked underneath the kitchen sink, aside form the pipe leakage, they also found out that the valve was also not working properly and was leaking as well and so, he also fixed the valve and for that extra work they didn't charge me extra, the work was efficient and very pleasant, I would highly recommend them."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Champion, PA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
