"The owners (Chris and Cal) did an excellent job on our remodeled project. They were personally involved with the project and worked directly with us during the entire planning and implementation of the work. They were true craftsmen. We wanted a contractor who could do the entire project and C&C fit the bill. They performed the drywall, flooring, windows, painting, electrical, and structural part of the job. We would highly recommend them ."

"Mark Rose and his crew did a great job on our family room renovation! Mark’s price was very fair, and he communicated with us every step of the way. Unlike other work crews we’ve had in the past, Mark or LJ was onsite everyday during the renovation, and they easily completed in the time they estimated. They were very respectful, eager to please, and conscientious about their work. We love our new family room, and we highly recommend Mark!"

"Took some time to get estimates, finalize details. Jay included a Pella dealer in the measurements and recommendations on window sizes and styles. Then took 2 months before project started, he is a busy contractor and advised us up front that it would take that long. Once the work started, they were there, on time, when they said they would be. They worked efficiently. Answered all of our questions. Very courteous, no issues with our dog who followed them around every day. They cleaned up after themselves every day. They completed the job in just 2 weeks, on time and on budget. There were no surprises. The windows and doors look beautiful. Extremely satisfied with the quality of their work. Several neighbors got their contact information based on their observation of the work being done. Jay and his team are fantastic. Would definitely recommend and use again. <br />"

"I was looking for a handyman. After dealing with a few incompetent guys, I came across Karl Poruben Jr. on Angie’s List. He had great reviews. I called him and discussed how I was looking to install gutter guards at my residence. He was familiar with the product. Next day, he visited the property to see what kind of ladders, tools etc. is needed for the job. We agreed upon a price. As promised, he showed my doorstep bright and early on Monday. It took him a few hours to complete the job. Job was completed with utmost satisfaction. He’s already coming back to work on different projects. Also, I am in the process of sharing his info with others so they can hire him as well. Don’t waste your time by calling others and give this guy a chance, you will not be disappointed."

"In summary: Working with Chad Sipes was frustrating. At the end he was definitely trying to either get out of the job early or gouge us unfairly (see below for details). In the end, we had to hire our own HVAC guy, our own flooring guy and our own drywall guy (isn't that a general contractor's job...?) We hired him initially because he was willing to work with our timing and was one of the few contractors willing to tear down our load-bearing wall within our budget. It later became clear that he was not making enough money on our project and was trying to gouge us and get out of the project early. We were completing some of the remodel ourselves to save money, and another reason we chose to go with him was because he seemed very willing to work with us in this way. He later complained about this which was frustrating. To be fair, they did a great job with removing the load-bearing wall. They cleaned up for us at the end of every day. The guys on site were so kind and caring. We were doing all of this with a newborn baby and they were nothing but accommodating. And the work that was done was done very well. However, working with Chad was so frustrating. I waited for about a month for an estimate for what to do with our ceiling (it was textured and since several different rooms became 1 when we tore the wall down, we needed some sort of smooth overlay). Our cabinets were going to be installed on a Monday, and Chad was aware of this (I reminded him every few days when I followed up every few days for the estimate). The Thursday before the install, he tells me it will cost $4500 to do an unfinished drywall overlay!!!! (to be clear, this was a perfectly rectangular room 10'x20') When I spoke with Chad about this estimate and where the $4500 was coming from, he told me some of his guys make $40/hr. I explained that even if there were 10 man hours on this job, and a sheet of drywall costs $15 so lets be generous and say $200 in materials, that is still less than $1000 so it didn't add up. He then told me he didn't need to justify his estimates to me and that he had other jobs that he was making more money on so he just wanted to be done with our project because he wasn't making enough money. (FYI, I called the first drywall guy I found on a google search and he came out Saturday and had it done beautifully in 3 hours and it cost $700). At the end of the project we still had a few loose ends that needed to be completed and Chad told us they wanted to move on to other projects, so we were left to find and hire our own people to finish up the project. When we got our final invoice, he charged us for a 5min phone conversation when we had a question about how he wanted us to prepare part of the wall for patching they were going to be doing the following day (and this was because we were tearing out part of the wall for him because he didn't want to do it...) Ultimately, we are happy to have a load-bearing wall removed and an open floor plan. The work completed was done very well. The crew on site was very kind and did good work. However, the difficulties of working with Chad, his ridiculous estimates and eventually essentially quitting the job early and leaving us to find and hire our own guys makes me STRONGLY recommend AGAINST hiring Chad."

"I had a roof replacement (with another company) last summer.... literally one year ago. I have had substantial water damage since... damage that was NOT there prior to the new roof. Totally at my wits end, I called Rick. He explained that he was completely backed up on projects ('tis the season), BUT he would head out to assess my damage and give me his opinion on "what went wrong". True to his word, he showed up. He walked me through the glaring errors made by the last roofer..... on his own time and his own dime.... and explained that if I'm still in need of repairs, after trying, ONCE AGAIN, to address them with the other roofer, he'd be happy to schedule the job. He was one of three roofers I called. He was the only one kind enough to show up.... it's a medium to larger home.... in a nice neighborhood. Thanks, Rick!!!"

"Paul returned my phone call immediately. He was able to complete the work within the next two days. He was prompt, and did a great job with the walls and trim (we had removed wallpaper and prepped the walls the best we could--and he made them better). His work was very neat. He cleaned up the job site when he was finished. He locked up the house (it was vacant) for us when he was finished. We recently needed someone to do some minor drywall and paint repair in order to satisfy the inspector's report for selling the house to our buyer.... So we contacted Paul and he came out promptly and fixed it for us. As usual, he did a wonderful job and went above and beyond to make the repairs neat and fresh looking for the buyers! We will definitely be hiring again for painting work at our current home. We can highly recommend Paul!"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Charleroi, PA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
