I had two broken basement windows.  Now, these windows, as it happens, were split panes.  That is, there is one window opening, but there were two panes of glass divided by a metal bar.  So to me, I viewed each window as two different windows.  
One of the broken windows was where my dryer vent is.  That is, the one pane was broken (to me, that was one window) and the other pane had a hole cut in it for the dryer vent.  When the salesman came to view the windows and ask what I wanted, I pointed to the broken pane and said, "this window," and the broken pane in another window, and said the same thing.  At no time did he tell me that the window consisted of both panes.  Champion does replacements, but not repairs.  
Then the man came to measure the windows.  Again, I showed him the windows, and was very specific.  He also did not tell me that the window consisted of both panes.  He did not mention that it would cost extra to cut a hole for the dryer vent.  He just took measurements.  
A week or two later, I got a call from Champion, asking if I really wanted the dryer vent hole cut, because that would cost extra (it wasn't written into my contract, but it should have been).  I said no, because to me, that wasn't the broken window.  
When the men came to install the windows, they took the dryer vent out, and when I saw that they were putting in a window with no vent, I went a little ballistic.  The crew supervisor told me to call a supervisor at Champion, and I did, and she was great.  She got all the information from me, spoke to the crew chief, and assured me that the crew would install something temporary so that I wouldn't have an empty window hole and my dryer would still work, and that they'd get on the right window right away.
It took several extra weeks, but the window came in, and the installation manager came himself to install it today.  Champion didn't charge me any extra for the window with the dryer vent hole.  
The window looks great.  There's no hole where there shouldn't be.  There's a dryer vent hole where there should be.  Everyone at Champion was very polite and understanding.  The installation manager told me that they've talked about this and the need to communicate clearly, so this sort of thing shouldn't happen again.  
Sometimes things go wrong, but I can work with a company that works to make things right.  Champion definitely did that.  I'd use them again.
