"Smart Tile was quick to respond to my request to have my granite counter tops cleaned & sealed. We setup a date and time to have the work done. I was called earlier in the day to confirm our appointment. Lorenzo was on time and started working immediately after he took a look at what was needed to be done. He was very courteous, friendly and paid close attention to detail. Lorenzo protected the floors with mats to ensure that the cleaner and sealer would not drip onto the kitchen floor. After he was done, my counter tops looked the same as the day they were installed. He also answered any questions that I had regarding the continued maintenance for my granite counter tops. Lorenzo was professional at all times and I could tell by the way that he worked he is an experienced craftsman. I would definitely use Smart Tile for any granite/tile work that I may need in the future."

Both Tom Sr. and Tom Jr., along with Freddie and Matt were very professional.  We bought our home about a month before actually moving in.  We met with other contractors but Tom Jr. stood out with his knowledge of what could be done without hesitation.  The written estimate was quickly received and the deal was made.  They had our kitchen gutted in no time!  Tom Jr. met us at Lowe's to give the kitchen consultant the dimensions and for any questions she may have had.  He taught us the difference between solid wood flooring and laminates.  We chose solid hardwood floors to go into a home built in 1950 with no major renovations in its past.   Needless to say, he ran into crooked floors and uneven walls, but his craftsmanship is impeccable and made everything fit just right!    From creating as open a concept as was possible in our old/new home,  right down to crown moulding on cabinets and in living room,  his touches are seen in all 4 rooms.  Tom Sr., did an outstanding job on the new walls and made our old walls look new.  He stained, poly'd, and installed the new oak treads and painted the fronts and sides of stairway and same with bannister. Many hours of spackling & sanding did Tom Sr. perform!!   As my fiancé is retired and I work 3 - 12hr shifts/wk,  we were home pretty much all the time during the reno.   We all became friends, especially my fiancé who was with them everyday!   They have great sense of humors, and can laugh and work at the same time :)  Tom Sr and my fiancé hit it off immediately,  discovering they had similar views -  they were pretty funny to listen to.  Made the reno and having to live out of the upper level for a couple months certainly more tolerable.  Tom Jr. was very courteous in keeping the fridge and stove in the kitchen until the last minute so that we had some comforts :)   Tom Jr. is also to be commended for his patience with us as we requested some extras.  We had a woman come by and knock on the door after all the work was done.  She knew the elderly woman who lived here previously.  We invited her in and she cried at how beautiful the entire downstairs looks!

They cleaned everything, everyday when they were done.  We have upstairs renovations to do next and will be contacting All Phases for sure! We actually missed them when they were done & gone!  I would highly recommend them to anyone.

"The project included an extensive scope including the installation of a full bar/kitchen, full bathroom, , framing of several rooms, mechanical/electrical/plumbing tie-ins, lighting, wood flooring, shelving, installation of two sewage ejection pumps, and audio/visual components. Two-River’s owner, Andrew Lashchyk, personally as well as his design and construction team demonstrated the utmost professionalism and workmanship throughout the project. Andrew demonstrates a hands-on approach to all the work and holds his subcontractors, material suppliers, and laborers accountable. My wife and I cannot speak highly enough of Two-River’s on-staff carpenters, who were largely on-site for the entire project. They were courteous throughout the entire install as workers and material were brought in and out of our house. They were also meticulous in leaving the house free of dust and the basement debris-less at the conclusion of each day. Andrew and his design team assisted us in providing multiple design options and ideas, in many cases maintaining budget, while not compromising quality. We are highly satisfied with the end product and truly feel that Two-Rivers helped transform our basement from an unusable, cold storage space to an efficient and usable extension to our home. We owe a huge thanks to Andrew and his entire staff and we definitely recommend Two-River Interiors for any small-to-large scale renovation project."

I originally contacted Steve because of a promo running for Quartz countertops. After speaking with him we decided to use him for the countertops as well as kitchen cabinets. We had a quote in hand from the place we originally were going to order the cabinets from and he said he would beat it by $500 for the same exact cabinets. His price for the Quartz we chose were about 30% lower than any other quotes we received.

From the beginning Steve was responsive. He came out to take measurements of the space the day after I contacted him. The only knock on the whole process would be with the cabinets. Let me start by saying that most of this is not Steve's fault. Some cabinets came damaged. Steve  always responded to my concerns quickly, but the process from start to finish seemed a little drawn out. Once a few of the cabinet headaches were settled, it was time for countertops. He had the countertops cut,  delivered and installed the day after my cabinets were installed! From my experience, this process usually takes about 7 days. This was awesome and greatly appreciated.  The kitchen came out great and the countertops are gorgeous, we are extremely happy with the outcome.

All said and done, I would use Steve for my next project and I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

FAQs for laminate countertops installation projects in Chester, NY

With the right care and a professional installation, laminate counters last 10 to 15 years. Wipe up spills quickly, clean with a nonabrasive product, and keep hot pots off the surface to prevent warping or scorch marks. Limiting prolonged moisture at seams also pays off. Your installer can walk you through simple maintenance habits that will help you squeeze every year out of your new counters.

Yes—if the existing laminate is solid and level, a pro can bond a fresh sheet right on top. They’ll rough up the old surface, apply the correct adhesive, and make precise cuts so the new layer sits tight. Skipping steps can lead to bubbles or weak seams, so this project is best left to an experienced installer who has the tools to deliver a clean, durable finish.

Absolutely, you can give tired laminate a facelift with paint, tile, or a concrete overlay instead of a full tear-out. The key is thorough prep: clean, degrease, and lightly sand so the new finish sticks.

Follow the product instructions for primer, sealers, and cure times, or hire a pro if you’d rather avoid the mess. When done correctly, these updates freshen the look and add a few more years of useful life.

Mix baking soda with just enough water to form a paste, then spread it over the stain and let it sit for five minutes. Wipe away with a soft, damp cloth—don’t scrub, as abrasives can dull the surface. Repeat if needed. For stubborn marks, ask your installer about cleaners made specifically for laminate.

Laminate isn’t built to battle the elements. Water, UV rays, and temperature swings quickly cause swelling, fading, and mold. Even a covered patio won’t protect the material for long. If you’re planning an outdoor kitchen or bar, skip laminate and choose a weather-tough option like stone, tile, or concrete so you don’t end up replacing your counters after the first season.

Traditional laminate isn’t the greenest choice. Most sheets rely on plastics like melamine and can emit trace VOCs over time. They also can’t be recycled at the end of their life. A few brands now use recycled pulp cores, but plastics still make up much of the product.

If sustainability tops your list, consider natural or recyclable materials such as solid wood, stone, or recycled glass instead.
