Contractor installed the chimney cap that looked questionable, cheap, and came in a store box (not custom). Easter Sweeps verified it was not installed incorrectly, not to code, and just covered one flue not all 3 chimney flues. Our suspicions were verified by Easter Sweeps. Easter Sweeps replaced the chimney flue with a custom chimney cap. Highly recommend Easter Sweeps!"

"I booked them on the day after Christmas. We recently bought a new home with a wood burning fireplace and I wanted to make sure that everything was in order in the chimney as we started using it. Two guys came on site, they were professional and did a good job. The price was great. $105 for the cleaning. I recently had my chimney cap fly off during the high winds at the end of February. I called on Tuesday morning for a service call to reattach the cap. When I mentioned I was concerned about the coming rain, they worked me in same day. Very happy with this cougot's."

"They were on time, extremely efficient getting the permits from the county and getting the inspection immediately upon completion of the project. We have been dealing with several contractors because we have an older home that needs updating in every room. Castle Chimney by far was the most professional, on time, responsive and communicative contractor we have dealt with to date. The only reason I gave them a B on price was because after we met Stuart the owner we decided we really liked him and wanted his company to do our fireplace. So we did not get other estimates. "Service was done quickly and thoroughly. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the entire operation as well as with the equipment used. After sweeping the chimney, Marcel reviewed observations, such as a cracked tile and eroding crown. Recommendations were made concerning each item, but no pressure to do anything in the immediate future. In the Spring, we agreed the crown resurfacing could be done. I will definitely want his company to do that work. He could also do any repairs necessary if the cracked tile becomes problematic. Water was also observed in the chimney. Marcel had stainless steel chimney caps on hand and was able to install one during the same visit. I had had one previously installed by another service provider, but that one rusted out and I believe it may have interfered with the draft. So I had removed it. This one that Marcel provided is stainless steel, looks good and should last a long time. I have noticed no degradation in the draft, since installation. I have had several good fires in the fireplace since then. Another reason I wanted the cap installed was to keep out birds and other animals. (I once had a bird in my fireplace several years ago and had to call Animal Control to have it removed. Not a good scene for any homeowner.) <br />"

"This is a very good company to work with. From the beginning, Seth was very responsive to my needs and worked with me to identify the work that we could have done to fit my budget. The painters did an excellent job and everything was done very quickly. While I did not observe much of the actual labor, my neighbors commented that the workers never really seemed to take a break, even on hot days. This seems to be in-line with what others have posted. While installing new siding on the rear porch, a hole was made in the drywall on the inside of our upstairs bathroom. I notified Seth of this and his guys came and fixed it the next day. There is no indication that any damage was ever done to the wall, so I guess I can verify their drywall skills too. Seth was always very easy to get in touch with, and rarely took longer than a couple of hours to respond to my emails. He came and inspected the work, and even had the carpenters re-do the woodwork at the base of my front door pillar that had rotted away. Never underestimate what a new coat of paint will do for the curb appeal of your house. It's like a face-lift. Also keep in mind that FHA loans can't be given for houses that have peeling paint, so by ignoring the problem, you are possibly disqualifying potential buyers from making an offer. I will be contacting Jacob's Ladder next year when we get our old windows replaced. I was very pleased with the experience."

I appreciated his attention to detail and making sure I understood how to operate my no vent fireplace safely and confidently. He even took the time to make the flame beautiful replacing lost embers and pointing out that we should move a painting we had hanging over the fireplace as it might get damaged from heat exposure. "We have used Stevens Roofing numerous times in the past twenty years, going back to when we lived in Norfolk.  Quality has always been excellent.  In the past they have been very responsive, even repaired hurricane damage when we had to leave town before the repairs were started.  Stevens has always been our go-to contractor for roofing repairs. This last time, however, communications with the company was poor.  After we paid a deposit for the repairs in early January, we had to call them several times to find out when they were coming to do the work.  Repairs weren't done until March.  Bad weather certainly played a large part in the delay, however the company did not keep us informed of what they were doing.  A simple phone call would have sufficed, and that would have been understandable.  But nothing until we called them. Quality of the work was outstanding; it always has been.  The on-site workers were excellent and very professional.  I admit I did not get a second estimate for any of the work completed by Stevens because I have always been willing to pay for the quality and responsiveness. However, I feel their prices are somewhat high.  On one job we never got a breakdown of the labor and material. This past job was fixed priced, which included some some growth of about 10 percent.  I would recommend Stevens if cost is not an issue and you just want to get quality work performed.  Hopefully, this last experience with communications was an anomaly. I now need to replace an attic fan, but because of Steven's prices and the recent communications issues, I am going to try someone else. <br /> <br />"
