"Great! They arrived within an hour, and had everything done in about 30 minutes. Charged a little over $300 (another plumber wanted to charge between $400 and $500). The guy was courteous, professional, and cleaned everything up."

"The technician quoted a great price  for a full days labor and included all material, trips to supply houses, removal of old materials. There were no surprises, no extra cost.   He worked very quickly and neatly while being polite and did a great job not to disturb the normalcy of everyday life at home.  All the work was very neat and clean and we were so happy to see that the new water heater was now sitting in a pan and a drain line was piped all the way over to the floor drain.  No more wet basement!  "

"Mitch, the owner came out and discussed ideas and had many pictures of his work. I appreciated how he worked around my schedule and was always on time.  <br /> He helped with the layout, design and color ideas of the paver blocks. His crew came in and removed the existing concrete patio and dug and prepped the foundation for the new patio. We also had him construct a gas fire pit as well. The fire pit required that a gas line and upgraded gas meter be installed as well. Mitch took the lead on these task as well and coordinated the contractors and efforts required. All the work was detailed and finished on schedule.  <br /> The professionalism of Mitch and his crew were a breath of fresh air in today's world of poor contractors.   <br /> We are very happy with the results."

"I have a very tight schedule. I care for my elderly mother who is very ill. I had been working with a local plumber that would keep putting my work off and was bad about not returning calls. I became discouraged and called McCoy Plumbing. Mr. McCoy made me feel at ease over the phone. He assured me that he would do his best to get my work completed as soon as possible. I was to call his office the following day and make arrangements. Before I had a chance to make the call, McCoy Plumbing called me to get the work completed. They came that very day. I was so relieved....one less thing to worry about. I was pleased with the cost. I appreciate the respect I was given. I will keep McCoy Plumbing's Number handy - as I would my physician's. Thank You so much McCoy Plumbing. <br />"

"The gas utility told us at around 1PM that we had two small problems to deal with before turning on the gas to the hot water tank and the furnace: a new shut off valve for the first and a thermocouple for the other. We called Monroe around 1:30PM and left a message on the answering machine. We received a call from them at 2PM and were told they could be there in a half hour. Dan arrived around 2:30PM and the work was completed before 3:30PM. Don't you wish EVERYTHING worked out like that?! We were so pleased, absolutely NO complaints here! <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Chillicothe, OH

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
