"After checking around with other auto glass repair vendors I found Glass Installers Plus on Angie's List and asked for an estimate to replace a cracked outside mirror on my van.  Gregg's estimate was way below what other vendor's quoted, if fact I wondered if we were talking about the same item.  I decided to go ahead and order the mirror from him and see how it goes.  It wasn't a big job so I didn't expect much attention.  Gregg got in touch with me once the mirror arrived and made an appointment to drop by my home to install it since he was in the area.  I live in the south side of the Twin Cities, a considerable distance from his business up north so I was impressed by his willingness to come by.  On the appointment date he came early morning and was done with the whole job before I could get out to greet him.  The cost was exactly what he had quoted before and I was delighted with his prompt, efficient service.  He's a fun fellow to talk with and we got to talking about his business and such and I mentioned that I also had a chip in my van's windshield but didn't want to go to the trouble of filing a claim with my insurance company.  He took a look at it and explained why some chips are more serious than others, leading to cracked windshields.  The chip I knew of wasn't of the serious kind but he did see one I hadn't noticed up high behind the visor mirror that already had a crack in it.  I asked if he would consider fixing it since he was there.  He said he had another job to go to but still took the time repair the chip before leaving.  Again, his price was below anything I had heard from other glass repair outfits and his service was excellent.
Apparently he handles all manner of window glass installation and repairs and has been doing so for over 30 years.  I would gladly hire him again for glass service and recommend him to anyone else in need.  It is obvious why he has high ratings on Angie's List.

"Replacing the staircase light fixture was a difficult job requiring the use of a ladder, a step ladder and an aluminum plank to create a level workspace in order to access the light. The new pendant was lowered by 6 inches, compared to the old one, to allow easy exchange of light bulbs. The electrician was creative in solving some installation problems.  He also saved me some money by advising me that some other electrical work I was considering might not be necessary."

"This company has treated me well, especially Mike Museus, who worked over a year (last summer and this spring) to find out why there was a fluid leak in my new AC unit. The leak didn't affect the cooling of my home so I wasn't concerned, but Mike was persistent, even to returning finally with an "expert" to help diagnose the problem. What they found was that the A-coil above the furnace was full of tiny pinholes. On the day this was to be replaced, Steve came before 9 a.m. to remove the defective A-Coil and install the new one. He worked on it all day, without lunch or a break, leaving shortly after 5 p.m. There was no charge, as it was still under warranty. With all that, he still took the time to explain to me why the replacement was so important: that the defective A-Coil could eventually leak enough to damage the furnace below it. Because he was using solder, I believe, to install the new part, he turned on the ceiling fan in the adjacent room to mitigate the fumes. My only complaint is that a few of my vinyl floor tiles were damaged/discolored by the soldering process. That part of the flooring has had water damage before and is missing a few tiles so, after a day of hard work, he may have attributed the damage to work done before. It's not a big deal; I just wish he'd have said something. I have to hand it to Steve, though; he was working by himself, which frequently required him to leave the furnace area to check the outdoor AC unit, then rush back to the indoor work. I think it might have been a two-person job. At least, an assistant could have facilitated some of the work done."

"I got four estimates from different Angie's list providers, and Hal stood out head and shoulders above the others from the start. As we discussed the project I could tell he was looking at it not only from a practical standpoint, but from a design perspective as well. He took notes and measurements and said he had some ideas, and he'd have to figure out the numbers and get back to me. Less than a week later we met again to go over his ideas and get the project on the calendar. He was extremely flexible with my schedule, agreeing to delay the start more than a couple times as other yard projects were juggled along with my out of town travel. Once work was started Hal and his crew worked efficiently and were fun to be around. He made sure to find out my preference for any design or building consideration that needed a decision, and also made adjustments to suit my taste. The whole project turned out beautifully and I've received many compliments from neighbors and people passing by. I'm very pleased with the result and happy to recommend Hal and his crew."
