Get matched with top carport (wood) builders in Churchton, MD

"American Eagle Building is the best contractor I’ve ever worked with. They are honest, responsive to their clients needs, fair with pricing, and always respond to inquiries and questions. I have done multiple builds with them (residential and commercial) and have referred them to many people. I highly recommend."

"We recently hired KMA to remodel our kitchen and they did a beautiful job!! They were very knowledgeable in all aspects of the project and kept us informed every step of the way. We will be using them again to update our 2.5 bathrooms in the future."

"Overall, I thought the person that came to my home to give an estimate of the patio we wanted to build was not very professional. She came up with a sketch for the patio which did not incorporate the design ideas that I wanted. She was willing to re-sketch the design 2 times to get it right, but then seemed to get annoyed that I asked questions about the materials that were being used, the options that were available...etc. Granted she may have been having a bad week, but I expected more. Ended up going with a different contractor and glad I did because the quote I got from them was $1000 less and I loved the job they did.
Overall, I would give them a B-.

"The remodel was seamless, professional, timely and relatively hassle free."

"Although we have not moved forward yet to build our screened-in porch, James and his team at DesignBuilders will be the contractor I select when we do.  (Due to an unexpected health concern with a family member, we had to put our plans on hold.)   We want to add a 14? by 16? screened enclosure to our existing deck which is extremely high off of the ground.   While the other two contractors complained about this (one even charged extra for it) James was confident that he could build exactly what I wanted no matter what obstacles our location would present.
I interviewed three contractors for our project.   Their proposals all fell within $2000 of each other.  Yet James was by far the most professional and knowledgeable of the group.  The other two contractors merely pencil-drew their vision of the porch while James and his team provided a computer-aided design (cad cam) of the proposed porch.  When I called to set up the initial appointment, James asked me to first send him a few pictures of my project area, a site survey (plat), and a brief description of what my project entails.
Jodie, his designer (who is amazing and very personable!) then used this information to set up an online meeting.  For those of you who have never experienced an online meeting, don?t let it intimidate you ? Jodie is so helpful; she will walk you right through it.  Jodie builds a sample design for your project so you can give instant feedback and make necessary design changes right on the spot.  The online meeting is a starting point.  Next is the site visit by James and his team, who, because of the preliminary online meeting, arrive with a good working knowledge of your project.   Unlike your average contractor, James is ahead of the game and can provide you with much more detail about what you can expect when the project is completed.
Because my roof lines were so complicated, Jodie came to my home to make sure she had all of the information she needed.  Just like James, Jodie is very professional and very easy to talk to.  She immediately put me at ease.  The cad cam designs she prepared gave me a clear picture of the different roof options (gable, shed, flat, etc.).  They also showed how the porch would attach to my house from several points of view.  This gave me a very detailed picture of what the finished project would look like.  All contractors should offer this approach!  It allows you to tweak and modify the design to your exact specifications.
Next Jodie, James and Edward (another awesome DesignBuilder team member) came to my house and spent more than an hour suggesting a variety of options and some alternative approaches for me to consider - some I would never have thought of. They came up with some excellent solutions to the problems associated with our complicated roofline issue.  We settled on a design that met all of my needs while keeping the project within my budget.
When James sent me his proposal, I felt very confident that he included pricing for every stage of the project, with no hidden fees or surprises.  James and his team prepared two design options, each with detailed pricing and a cad cam picture of how the finished product would look.  I loved both options, so I have the flexibility to pick the one that best fits my needs when I?m ready to start the project.
James has several videos on YouTube (search ?James Moylan builder?) and at his website http://www.designbuildersmd.com  that show his building process from beginning to end.  These videos will clear up any doubts you might have about the quality of his work or his experience in the field.   His is extremely knowledgeable, his team offers the level of professionalism and comfortable communication that is very hard to find among builders and remodelers, and every person I?ve talked with DesignBuilders has shown a genuine interest in my building project.
Without a doubt, when we are ready to move forward with our project, DesignBuilders will be the contractor we hire!
(Note:  This review was written by an actual homeowner in Columbia, MD.  I am not connected financially in any way with DesignBuilders.  In fact, I first became aware of Design Builders by searching Angie's List myself!  I am a homeowner who believes it is important to recognize and document great service by a contractor and share it with the Angie's List community.  In this way, we all benefit.  Good luck with your project!)

"Excellent. Dave is a really knowledgeable, creative, "can do" contractor. He suggested many adjustments to the plans, which made the end product even better than we hoped. His communication and attentiveness was great. Couldn't be happier with the work."

"I can't thank Mark enough for being a voice of reason who stepped in to help us deal with a tricky situation.
He is a straight forward, smart guy who cares about his clients. And that's not to say he doesn't care about the bottom line, too. He got us the best rate out of the three lenders we spoke with, and he made sure we understood exactly what we our options were.
He is extremely responsive and quick -  and you cannot underestimate the degree to which hustle can matter in housing transactions. He's an all-around gem, so glad we found him.

"I had the pleasure of working with Mike a few years ago for my store, and I was absolutely thrilled with the outcome. I want to give a huge shoutout to the team for their incredible work and attention to detail throughout the project. The craftsmanship on the shelves they created was impeccable. Using high-quality white pine wood and integrating strategically placed lights truly made our products stand out. Their knowledge about carpentry and attention to detail in constructing these shelves was evident. It's amazing how they transformed the store's look and feel. The custom 30-foot bar counter they crafted was an absolute masterpiece! The combination of a sturdy butcher block for the top and the addition of reclaimed wood for that rustic touch was executed with such finesse. Their technique and expertise in woodworking were apparent, and customers loved gathering around that impressive counter. I have to mention the custom-built shelving unit—they really knocked it out of the park. Their use of top-notch birch wood showcased their skill and dedication to their craft. The precision in constructing such a substantial piece demonstrated their technique and expertise in carpentry. It's not just functional; it's a standout feature that sets the tone for the entire store. Overall, I couldn't be happier with Mike’s work. The attention to detail, his extensive knowledge about carpentry, his technique and expertise in executing these elements truly elevated the store's ambiance. It's a welcoming space that captivated customers, and it's all thanks to his exceptional work. If you're seeking a contractor who combines craftsmanship, knowledge about carpentry, and a keen eye for detail, I highly recommend reaching out to Sassone Carpentry Mid Atlantic. They'll bring technique, expertise, and a personalized touch to your project that's hard to beat!"
