"I was having some issues with water coming into the basement through the foundation and walls during rainy weather. Not flooding, or even shop vac-able volumes, just enough to be annoying and require mopping. Dominic and his crew were here today to install an under-floor drainage system and a new sump pump. I was dreading the demo (I have a concrete floor) and the mess involved, but these guys came prepared for everything! They used dust abatement measures to protect all my basement-stored items, and they removed and hauled all the debris away when finished with the excavation. What really impressed me was the concrete restoration upon completion. I've previously had a sewer line replaced through the basement floor, and the contractor really "botched" the floor repair. I can't describe how different this experience was! The concrete installed today is immaculate! Dominic takes pride in his work and with good reason! The new concrete is perfect! I am thrilled!"

"Very professional! The two people that did the concrete raising were very helpful. Big shout out to Brian and Austin out of the Bristow location. Pricy, but foundation work is sometimes unavoidable."

"VRN Masonry repaired our patio, repaired the block supporting our garage wall, and poured concrete to fill in under our front porch. They responded quickly and meet our need to get the work done quickly. The quality of the work is very good. We are pleased with the work they did--it certainly met our needs. They also cleaned up well when the work was completed."

"They gave us an estimate on 03/22 and we agreed on 04/04.  They started work on 04/11, with the removal of the existing brick patio and the flower garden,  They poured a concrete base, bringing both these areas to the same height as the sidewalk.  They then built a dry-stack stone enclosure on the front and side of our porch, and installed the square cut flagstone cap on the entire area.  Finally, they built an area of concrete, about four inches wide, to transition from the driveway to the new flagstone area.  This was done in about four days of work, including one day when they had to build a tent-like structure over the work site to shield them from the rain,  The entire crew was courteous, neat, and professional.  We would recommend their service to anyone."

"The company was responsive - gave me a same-week appointment.  Adolfo came to my house, assessed the work to be done, and quoted me a fair price.  He did the work right at that time.  The job was done well - it looks professional and neat.   He even colored the concrete so the patches would better match the existing concrete.  I am pleased with the work.

"Excellent work. I found Marcos through good friends who had their front stoop and sidewalk redone, as well as their neighbors front porch and side walk. When I called for an estimate he came the next day and gave me a quote on the spot. It took some time to go through our Homeowners Association, but we did receive approval and were happy to wait a week more for them to begin. We kept in contact by email. Marcos sent two masons to do our work. They did spoke very little English, but we were able to communicate just fine. They demolished the sidewalk and cracked step with a jackhammer and saw. They poured new concrete. Actually it looked so good they could have stopped there. When dry, they worked on the project for 3 more days, laying flagstone.. They needed to use our hose bib, and there was minimal stone dust on the bushes, which was to be expected and washed off. Once completed, they came with a pressure washer and washed the porch and driveway. The arrival times were freeform, and Marcos brought the masons to/from the job.. But they always arrived on the specified day, and worked as long as possible. They cleaned up everything at the end of each day, and cordoned off the whole area. I saw and spoke with Marcos each day. He was very available and answered all questions. He mentioned he picks out all the flagstones by hand for color and quality. The results are beautiful. Very fine craftsmanship. After seeing our project, two neighbors hired him to do their porches as well."

FAQs for concrete foundation raise projects in Clarksburg, MD

On average, it takes two to seven days to physically raise your house. However, this does not include the preparation work, which is often the most lengthy process. The entire project, including preparation, obtaining permits, disconnecting utilities, and any subsequent landscaping, can take four to eight weeks. This timeline ensures everything is done safely and that your home remains structurally sound.

If proper safety protocols are not followed, raising a house can cause severe damage, as the process involves applying controlled force to the home's structure. The risks involved make it crucial to hire a skilled contractor who uses engineered methods to secure your home and prevent any harm to your household.

If your foundation shows signs of instability after raising your home, you might need to add structural support. A structural engineer can assess your foundation and recommend reinforcements to ensure your house stays stable and safe for the long term. Available support options include installing additional piers or pilings, reinforcing existing footings, or using steel beams to distribute the load more evenly.

You will need a structural engineer to assess your home before you begin. These professionals determine whether your house is suitable for lifting and identify any issues that could compromise its stability. Their expertise ensures that the project is designed correctly and all risks are managed to achieve a successful lift.
