"I called and owner scheduled an appointment that worked for me. Peyton called before the appointment to confirm and tell me a window of time for him to show up. He showed up right on time and replaced both garage door openers. Took time to explain their operation and help connect my two cars to the openers. Fixed the doors to open more easily and showed me how to best oil the moving parts. Price was exactly as quoted on the phone. I chose Champion because of their over 2,000 excellent reviews. They lived up to their reputation. Would definitely choose them again for any issues with my garage doors."

"I called on a Saturday, late afternoon, when my garage door broke. He was able to come to our home on Sunday morning and replaced the garage door opener within an hour. He also repaired the weather stripping on the smaller overhead door and did an excellent job."

"Garage Door for Less was priced right. They sent a man out within a few hours of my call for help. Amar was friendly, efficient, Conscientious, and a hard worker. Besides replacing the spring he performed some preventative maintenance; pointing out and replacing worn out bearings and lubricating the tracks and moveable parts,"

"My garage door spring fails, which burns out garage door opener in minus 12 degree weather. Garage door is way too heavy now with failed spring to lift manually. Dan and Ricky came at 6 pm on a Friday night in the cold to install a new garage door opener. They were fast, polite, friendly and knowledgeable. They showed me the diagnostic codes. â I was shown how to maintain the new opener so that it will last 25 years and given a tip on how to keep ice forming on bottom of garage door seal.â â The door and new opener works fine, I pay them....they leave. Later that night I go to use the new garage door opener, opens fine, but now wont close the door and it is 15 below, 9 pm Friday night. It has a diagnostic code of F...which means force.....so I call Dan back as I don't want to break my new opener.â â Dan comes all the way back into St. Cloud from Annandale in the bitter cold 30 minutes later to readjust the springs and get the garage door opener working again. â They were very easy to work with and answered all my curious questions and concerns. I am very satisfied with the fast and reliable work....plus I had a new garage door opener installed within 23 hours of getting their name from HomeAdvisor I highly recommended their services."

"I was just getting estimates for having a ductless AC system installed in my little cottage. I had a very charming man come to give me a bid. But oh my goodness, what a sales pitch. All about doing it rich this second to get this or that discount, and really putting the fear of God in me about things breaking down, and how they'll replace them no questions asked (I don't believe that for a minute). A really hard sale, and it was at least $2000 over everyone else, and generally $3000 more for a small house just needing 3 units. That's why they can offer the replacement units. But I'd rather buy an insurance package for $400 or some such thing. Not to mention, the route he suggested was quite lengthy and elaborate, and definitely not the easiest way to go about running the piping. That's the problem with someone in a suit selling something they've never actually worked on. Charming, but really savvy. I felt I knew more than he did about plumbing, which I probably do because of my work."

"It went well from start to finish. It took longer than it was supposed to, but don't all rehab projects?  -To be fair, he knew I was not in as much of a hurry as other customers waiting to use their garages; mine was at a vacant property."

They are very responsive so when you call you get a service person almost immediately, which is pretty amazing for the area we live in. But, they don't cover as much as they say they do. For example, out garage door opener broke and we called out a service person. He said it was due to water damage and we are in a drought. It is hanging from the top of our garage and there is no water in the whole garage. It seems incredibly stupid and if I were to contest that I could have another service person come out and if they found the same thing I would have to pay that, too. So I could just buy another garage door opener for that amount of hassle. It is not as comprehensive as I had hoped it would be. They don't have great customer service when you call to set up your account, but when you go to get a service that is where they really shine. In terms of setting up this policy I think if I signed up I was going to get a $25 Amazon gift card and my dad was supposed to get one too but it took us about a year to get it. Nobody knew what we were talking about. We signed up under that offer and nobody knew anything about it. In terms of when something breaks there is someone out the same day or next day. I think it costs between $35 and $45 a month. For that amount I can have about 8-10 covered appliances. All the service providers they have sent have been really great.

"The job went wonderfully! Vitaly Chirnikh called me shortly after I bought the deal and was available to start the project quickly, but I needed to clear out the basement (merging two households and too much stuff to work around), do some wall painting, get some flooring installed and get base/casing/French door for the project. It took me most of the spring/summer to get that done.
I contacted Vitally in August and scheduled our project for the week of Sept. 17 - 24. I confirmed our project schedule with Vitaly the week before the start date and he showed up promptly on Monday, Sept. 17 to go over the contract, to review the project and to clarify specifics of the project. Vitaly was very professional and has pride in his workmanship.
Peter was the base/casing contractor that did the actual work; he arrived shortly after Vitaly. Peter spoke limited English, so Vitaly clarified with Peter the specifics of the project and Peter got to work. Both were very pleasant and polite.
Vitaly recommended that we take a look at the work each night and to call him if there were any issues so that they could be corrected before the job got too far along or if we needed to communicate something to Peter. He also warned me that it was going to be a bit of a dusty job.
Our basement is a walk-out, so we unlocked the basement door each morning and Peter just let himself in/out for the workday. Peter was efficient and except for nailgun/saw noises, we hardly knew he was here.
Peter installed casing on nine doors (two were 5-ft closet doors that he worked some "trim magic" to give the closet casing a really nice look) and two windows, installed base in a bathroom, a bedroom area, a large, irregular common area, and a 16 x 14 room, installed skirt boards in an "L" shaped stairway, which can be a challenge (Peter made some "transition pieces" in various areas where the skirt boards and base met. He also installed an interior pre-hung double French door and it was installed perfectly. He also installed an "L" shaped "box" made from two pieces of oak for the ugly cement block ledge by the patio door that needed to be hidden/made pretty for future carpet.

At the end of the week, Peter cleaned up the area as best he could before leaving on Friday. He put all scrap in the trash can as he worked and swept up the major sawdust and put it in the trash can, too, but it is a very dusty job and I expected to vacuum up/wipe down the fine sawdust after, which I did over the weekend. The basement looks great! We ran out of contractor time to do the caulking/nail hole filling, but that can be done later; the big stuff all got done, which was my goal for the week. All we need now is to fill nail holes, caulk, paint the base/casing and install carpet and the basement will be completely done.
I appreciated that Peter was very careful of our freshly painted walls. We had a lot of big stuff/furniture in our basement to work around and we pushed as much as we could to the middle and our intent was to move stuff around to the finished areas to open up other areas for Peter to work, but we didn't want to accidentally put stuff in Peter's way if he wasn't done in an area. Peter ended up moving some of the stuff himself, which we feel bad about as it wasn't our intent to make him deal with that aspect of the job.
Even though Peter's English was limited, communication was not a problem as he would either leave us a note (such as "need four feet of this" left on a piece of base) or he would call Vitaly, who would call me (for instance, Peter wanted to know which way we wanted the French doors to swing).
We are very happy with the quantity and quality of the work that got done and with Vitaly's professionalism and Peter's workmanship and work ethic.

FAQs for garage door opener installation and replacement projects in Collegeville, MN

A chain-drive opener costs less, but it’s louder and needs more upkeep. If your budget allows, a belt-drive model is often the smarter long-term buy, especially for an attached garage with a bedroom above where noise matters. The decision between a chain or belt opener comes down to your budget and needs, and your garage door opener installer can help you choose an option that best suits you.

Choosing the right horsepower for your garage door opener is crucial for safe and efficient performance. Your garage door’s design and material determine the required horsepower. A single-car garage demands a half horsepower rating, while a two-car garage requires a rating between three-fourths and 1.25 horsepower. Selecting the proper power level ensures optimum performance and durability over the life of the opener.

Plan on a quick garage door tune-up once or twice a year. Tighten the chain or belt, lubricate moving parts, test the safety sensors, and swap out weak batteries in the remotes or backup unit. A few dollars in lubricant and 30 minutes of work can fend off costly repairs, keep the door running smoothly, and help the opener hit its full life expectancy.
