"Not once during our entire basement finishing process did I question our decision to work with Mike Hessling at Catalyst (formerly Apex). The entire process took just over a month to go from a completely unfinished basement to a brand new, beautiful, rec room, office, and 3/4 bathroom. Mike even dealt with all the curve balls we threw him along the way, switching colors midway through painting, adding an additional cabinet here. He is the kind of contractor you dream of. He's hands-on, there first thing every morning doing so much of the work himself! And the coordination with all the subcontractors was amazing. Everyone knew when and where to be and what exactly needed to get done. To top it all off, he came in right on budget as quoted (which was very fair). Mike's brother Adam was also key in the build, working hard with Mike or on his own."

"Everything went great. They worked with me to set up a time for the work to be done. The work was done well, and there was no mess in the yard. The only sign that they were there was an invoice on the door and clean gutters. Planning to hire again for other work. They charged exactly what they had specified in their estimate. No complaints, and would recommend to anyone."

"We contacted them and they repaired the hole and also put in a drain tile. There was a question about whether there was another source of water leak and they came back to test the integrity of our foundation and found that everything was ok.

Sometimes there was a delay in getting a call back from them and a delay in having them come to do the work. When they did come, the work was done well."

"TL Home Finishing was fantastic! If his business was a restaurant, he’d be a Michelin 3-Stor (Exceptional, beyond excellent, and worth a special trip). Tom was prompt for his estimate of the job (essentially, a full house), fair in the estimate he offered (within a day), and offered me a balance between personal choice of colors (and even brands!) and offering some suggestions without being pushy. He offer to do any part of the job or the whole job at once, and he accepted my request to do one-half of the job now, and one-half in several weeks. He accepted 50% down on the day the work began, with the balance paid after everything was finished and cleaned up (by his crew). The painters he contracted with (Aleks and Gedi) were also prompt and arrived exactly when they said they would. They were polite, courteous, knowledgeable, exceptionally hard-working and persistent, took few breaks, acted professionally (without being stuffy or standoffish), had quick, ready smiles, and even asked permission to use the microwave to heat up their lunch. They took 30 minutes to re-arrange my living room after the first day (ceiling painting) to temporarily move some furniture back so I could watch TV in the LR and use the kitchen over the weekend. They asked politely to store some materials in the house (organized and stored out of the way), but also said they’d remove all of that if I wanted them to do so. They took care to cover all furniture and appliances with plastic and covered all the floors with painters’ drop cloths before beginning their work. They found and expertly repaired some drywall gouges I’d identified (and found two that I hadn’t noticed!). They did the repairs in a thoughtful and knowledgeable way, and they closed doors when I was working at home so the noise would be kept to a minimum for me. They did not blast music, but worked diligently and spoke to each other in what seemed to be a congenial way. They were respectful of all hardware they had to remove and replaced it exactly as it was before. After all was said and done, they cleaned up for 45 minutes by dusting, wiping, and vacuuming everything. I am excited by the prospect of seeing them back to finish the upstairs part of the job. In sum: WORTH EVERY PENNY (AND THEN SOME!). I’d hire TL Home Finishing again in a New York second. No doubts. No second thoughts."

"This was a very small job, but because it involved putting screws through vinyl siding on the second story of our house, we needed help. Rick answered our call and was at work within the week. He also helped us out with a couple small repairs inside the house. Rick Larson does excellent, thorough work, no matter the size of the job. He's remodeled our kitchen, but has also been happy to help us out with less time-consuming jobs. The barn square I painted is now beautifully installed on our house."

"Mick did an excellent job remodeling our bathroom. As part of our remodel, Mick had to tear apart our one piece old fiberglass tub/shower and do the frame work/drywalling to replace with a tile shower. The finished tiled shower looks very professional. Not only does Mick have great carpentry/tiling skills, he also has great people skills. It was always a joy having him around and it was very evident that he cares about his customers. We highly recommend Mick."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Columbus, WI

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
