"Masonworks did a GREAT job installing my patio. Very professional from the first contact to the job completion- measurements and design were superb and the installation was timely, smooth, and very high quality. The price was very fair as well. I love my new outdoor space and would definitely use Masonworks again. Highly recommended!"

"We spent 2 years renovating our house leaving our yard a giant mud puddle. Over the course of the winter, we worked with Ron to develop the landscaping plan. In the spring, his team re-leveled the entire lot, installed 2 patios with pavers, sod, a fence, prepped for a shed and put in a new asphalt driveway and vegetation. We are very happy with the final product."

"<strong>An Exacting Carpenter for Exacting Clients</strong> <br /> In an industry that can seem pretty seedy, Marcello restored my faith in general contractors. <br /> After being burned by several builders, we decided to play GC ourselves. I called Marcello for an estimate: rough carpentry in the gutted four-season room of our 19th-century home. Within 24 hours, Marcello and his man Jared came out to hear our vision for the space. They listened and offered sound advice, and they refrained from pressuring us to go whole hog. (They split the estimate into rough work and the whole room.) <br /> Marcello was flexible and agreed to work within our budget to earn our business. <strong><em>Then he set about earning every future house project we do. </em></strong>Here's the breakdown... <br /> <strong>Materials & Scope</strong> <br /> Marcello replaced our floor with top-of-the-line lumber (ProWood), poured three concrete footers, furred the walls and furred and strapped the ceilings, removed a 13-foot load bearing wall, and installed a custom-made LVL and steel and concrete lally columns. <br /> He then replaced rotted sill plates and hauled off extra junk I had in my yard <em><strong>, items not in the original contract. </strong></em> <br /> The workspace was sealed off and red rosin paper was placed on the floors. Cleanup was immaculate. <br /> <strong>Marcello's Men</strong> <br /> Tulio and Tiago are consummate craftsmen, and they've been Marcello's right-hand men for years. When they encountered a serious snag - a roofline that dipped below the new LVL header - they convened with Marcello and came up with a labor-intensive solution that few woodworkers could pull off. They furred the LVL (easy) and then ripped 2x4s to build out the rafters from 0 at the eaves to 10 inches at the peak, leveling them every inch of the way up. The detail cost them an extra day of work. It cost me nothing. <br /> Oh, and don't mind the singing and laughing in Portuguese. These guys love their job. <br /> <strong>Marcello's Responsiveness</strong> <br /> Call with a question, leave a message, get a text 10 minutes later saying, "I'll be there in 10 minutes." This was not a major project for Marcello, who builds 10-story buildings, but you wouldn't know that by his attentiveness. <br /> <strong>A Contractor for Life</strong> <br /> If you haven't figured already, I am the most exacting (read: anal retentive) customer in Massachusetts. I ask too many questions, check in with my contractors way too often, and demand perfection from the first nail to the last brushstroke. <br /> Marcello is my GC doppelganger. You won't find a more perfectionistic, patient, and flexible contractor. I only hesitate to sing his praises because he might become too busy to work for me, but I somehow doubt that. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Archadeck produced a great solution to the challenging front entry to our home. We enjoyed working with the designer during the initial phase. Her experience and flexibility worked well. We very much liked the professionalism and quality of the hard-working build team. Our porch and stairs are well constructed from high quality material. In summary, we like the Archadeck people, design and product. We look forward to years of enjoying our front porch."

"I can't say enough about Justin and his team. He added on a patio to an existing walkway, installed a firepit, and finished off a retaining wall. Justin is extremely professional, communicated very well throughout the entire project, and his prices are very reasonable. He did an excellent job matching the new paves to the existing pavers, which is not an easy job. I have already received so many compliments on my new patio and several neighbors asking me who did the work. I would highly recommend Northeast Hardscapes and Masonry!"

"The project required working close to the house with a backhoe which was expertly done.  It also required stone cutting and fitting which was also done with expertise.  The crew was professional and worked with us throughout the project to keep us informed of their progress and making sure that we were pleased with the work.  The finished steps, retaining walls and walkway are beautiful and we've already received compliments from neighbors for the work. <br /> This is the second project that we've hired BestHands to do for us.  Last year, they replaced an old patio with a new, larger one and added a retaining wall along one side.  We wanted a customized, curved shape for the patio that the BestHands crew were able to provide beyond our expectations. <br /> We recommend BestHands to anyone interested in hiring a team of professionals who can exceed expectations for the work they perform. <br />"

"Pros: Project manager (Caroline) is very good to work with - she was the main factor in choosing this company. Team were very good, experienced, and skillful, very hard-working, and very flexible in accomodating their work to my ideas. We ended up not using Caroline's plan/layout although it was a great jumping-off place to formulate my ideas, and I found the project a very creative experience with their support. Irrigation contractor was Autowater, who are very good, and I will use them again when I do my back yard. Deck contractor, Jim Doherty, is extremely talented and completely understood and figured out how to implement my ideas. <br /> Cons: Crew had only 1 English-speaking member so communication was hard if Caroline or crew chief not around. Project was delayed due to 2 months of rain, so we had to install sod, not seed. Kentucky Bluegrass sod is really unsuited to my location, and my lawn is not great; I will have to overrseed with a more high-sun tolerant grass. Soil was wet and team did not smooth out clods before laying sod, so lawn is lumpy; I wish they'd raked/rolled it. Although I had and intended to add more roses, no one recommended drip rather than spray irrigation for beds, so roses all get black spot. <br /> Overall: Despite these disappointments, their professionalism, responsiveness, great sub-contractors, great project management, willingness to adapt in real time to my emerging design ideas, and the high quality of their work make them a company I will talk to and perhaps use again when I do my back lawn. I also met someone who'd had them build him a custom bocce court and he was thrilled with it and the work."

FAQs for outdoor kitchen building service projects in Concord, NH

Building your own pizza oven can be a cost-effective option if you already possess the necessary firebricks or materials and have the skills to complete the project. When you have the required supplies on hand, you save on material costs and labor fees. However, if you need to source every component, a pre-made kit may not deliver the same savings.

Fire bricks are engineered to withstand the high temperatures generated inside a pizza oven, protecting the structure from cracking or spalling. Standard bricks can fail under intense heat, potentially damaging the oven and creating safety risks. By using true fire-rated bricks, homeowners maintain consistent cooking temperatures, preserve the oven’s structural integrity, and reduce the likelihood of costly repairs. The modest increase in material cost is offset by longer service life and safer operation.

An optimal pizza oven installation positions the opening exactly between 36 and 48 inches above the ground to guarantee clear visibility and safe, comfortable access. This height optimizes heat distribution and ergonomic use. In addition, dome height can vary: shorter domes produce the signature soft, charred crust of Neapolitan pies, whereas taller domes are ideal for generating the robust baking environment required for New York–style pizzas.
