"Cory completed two projects for me, one out of his area of expertise. He did a great job and I am very pleased with both the quality of work and the customer service. Highly recommend him to anyone needing furniture repair."

"I had an antique double bed frame used for years that never came with a support system for the mattress. So years ago, a family member created supports that through the years did not hold up. It was also not level. I asked PK Furniture if they were willing to retrofit the frame to fit with the IKEA slats and center metal support I had and figure the leveling out. He built the head of the bed up 1-1/2 inches and stained/sealed to match the frame even going so far as to match the grain. Because I had it on wheels, he drilled up in to the leg with metal supports so that I could still use the wheels and not create pressure on the blocks he added. He also added wood to the headboard to create a support for the bracket for the metal center support. He sized the slats down to accommodate the uneven width of the side boards. <br /> He also created a more secure slat system. He went above and beyond in helping me with options and resolving the issues this old frame had. He also does a beautiful job with refinishing furniture as I saw several of his completed projects. I did not have him refinish mine as I do my own refinishing. <br />"

"My kitchen was looking very dated with light cabinets from the 80's that were stained and the finsh was wearing off from use.  I considered replacing the cabinets, but my husband wanted to have the cabinets refinished, so I called Peter to give me an estimate and explain to me what his company could do to update my kitchen.    As a result of his visit, I decided to have the cabinets refinished instead of replacing to save money and to keep the old cabinets out of a landfill.  I am so glad I made that decision and the decision to use All Wood Restoration.  I was pleased with his cost estimate which was much lower than buying new cabinets!   Peter and his crew are very polite, professional, responsive, and reliable.  They pay attention to detail with the end result is a kitchen with beautiful cabinets.  We will be contacting All Wood Restoration for some future projects at our house.  <br /> <br />"

"The leather medic did a fantastic job on the leather furniture in my home. There were several deep scratches, a torn cushion, and my leather furniture needed a deep cleaning. You can't even tell there were scratches at all and the furniture looks brand new. Great job! Having him come back every year to take care of my furniture. <br />"

"J.C. took the time and care to make a perfect job. J.C. was able to elevate an appliance garage, in a unigue way, so that the countertops could be installed under them. Everyone else said that the garage would have to cut out. In addition, the new countertops were a quarter of an inch lower than the original tops. J.C. designed spacers that made the cabinets rest at the original height. You have to see it to believe it."

"<p>Our home was burglarized at the end of March. One of the things that was seriously damaged was one drawer of our oak dresser, as well as some of the dresser runners. I was uncertain if there was a business that could fix this damage. I honestly thought we would need to buy a quality used dresser. However, I did further searching on the Internet, and I found out about Furniture Rescue by Seat Surgeon. I finally placed a call to Nick at the middle of June. Nick was able to stop by our home the following week, to inspect the damage. He determined that he could repair the damage and he quoted a price of approximately $160 for both parts and labor. Nick was concerned because he wasn't sure that he could complete the repair right away. We let him know that it was OK because my wife and I were going out of town until July 10th. We made the assumption, albeit incorrect, that the repair would be completed by the middle of July. Well, Nick and his family went on a planned extended family trip to the east coast, and they returned in the middle of August. So, the repair wasn't done until August 18th. Installing the runners on the dresser proved to be a most difficult problem, so Nick had to stay at our place for approximately 3 hours. However, to Nick's credit and business integrity, he kept the price at $160, it was an excellent job, and he completed the work with a smile on his face.<br /> <br /></p> <br />"

"Newton was easy to contact and work with. Since mine was a small job, he fit it in between his larger jobs, so it was finished quickly. The job was very professional and still looks great 3-1/2 years later. I'll hire him again when I need my whole house painted. <br />"

"The service we received from George, Bob, Carrie and Bill were fantastic. They were friendly, knowledgeable and most helpful. George met us at the door. He (and the company rep (who was visiting the store that day) showed us several recliners. Having served several wheelchair-bound customers, they knew exactly what I was looking for. I had found a great recliner and, after trying a power chair, I was pleased to discover the power feature could be fitted to my new recliner. We went back to the store a few days later to look at a sofa we'd noticed. It was George's day off, but Bob took great care of us. Both he and George took the time to chat with us and we got to know both Carrie and the owner, Bill Martin. There is a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere in the store. The staff genuinely cared about us. Delivery was estimated on May 25. I received a call on  May 21 that the furniture will be delivered on May 25. With the economy and storms, we were actually surprised...we thought delivery could well be extended two or three weeks or more. Overall, we had a great experience and will always go there for furniture. Delivery was also a good experience. Driver called alf hour before delivery. The delivery guys were friendly and clamped padded cover to door frame to protect the jamp from any damage. No problems...new furniture looks great and feels substantial."

FAQs for furniture refinish projects in Corvallis, OR

A complete table refinishing project requires between four and eight days from start to finish. The actual hands-on work takes between two and 10 hours, with the remaining time dedicated to drying periods between applications. The stripping and sanding phases demand the most active labor, while applying finishes requires patience as each layer dries completely before proceeding.

Several elements influence dining table refinishing costs, with size being the primary factor. Larger tables or those with extensions require more materials and labor time. The wood type matters significantly—hardwoods may need specialized treatment compared to softer woods. The table's current condition also impacts pricing, as damaged surfaces need repairs before refinishing can begin.

Refinishing often proves more economical than purchasing a comparable quality replacement. Professional table refinishing costs between $150 and $400 on average, while preserving the original craftsmanship and character of your piece.

This approach makes particular sense for well-constructed wood furniture that would be expensive to replace with similar quality. For sentimental pieces or antiques, refinishing also maintains their history and personal value.

Professional furniture refinishers charge between $40 and $100 per hour for their services. This rate varies based on geographic location, the refinisher's experience level, and the complexity of the project. Some professionals offer project-based pricing rather than hourly rates, especially for standard-sized pieces like coffee tables or end tables. When requesting quotes, ask whether the estimate includes materials or represents labor costs only.

For tables with minor wear, you can sometimes refresh the appearance without complete stripping and sanding. Using gel stains and wipe-on finishes can address surface issues while preserving the existing finish underneath. This approach works best for tables with light cosmetic damage rather than those with deep scratches or damaged finishes. However, proper stripping and sanding remain necessary for comprehensive restoration or significant color changes for professional-quality results.
