"they initially they were very responsive w a estimate in early december <br /> had to call to get formal written estimate. <br /> did not require deposit <br /> took awhile for and quot;partand quot; to arrive as wanted a battery backup system. <br /> further delays w weather <br /> only asked that in be done by end of january <br /> called me mid january and said and quot;springsand quot; broke while repair occurring. no details as to why or how. couldn't even tell me which side it <br /> when i asked about wasn't the price for a entire new system, they said no only and quot;opener and railand quot; <br /> additional cost was $280 <br /> agreed to additional work <br /> no contact for ~10-14 days. <br /> called and asked if work done and what about bill as my wife was planning to being going to cottage and wanted to be sure the doors would open <br /> specifically told and quot;all doneand quot; and bill sent. <br /> friends of mine went to cottage instead of wife due to illness <br /> they called and informed me that the garage door opener weren't installed. i was incredulous. i couldn't believe what he was telling me: they were still on floor. sent pics over phone.bill was in mailbox for work and quot;doneand quot; <br /> called them back to discuss the incomplete job. he doubted my report and i had to send him pictures of the openers unattached and lying on garage floor. <br /> took 24-48 hours to get a person out to complete job. work was finally completed. <br /> my friend had to sweep up debris after the worker left: some sharp staples and other materials <br /> i realize good workers are hard to come by, <br /> my real issue is the lack of professional behaviors:sending bills out for work not completed and then having to perform additional work for 'broken spring' with poor explanations and workers to leave sharp materials on a garage floor <br /> overall i do not know the final quality of the work as i have not personally seen it or assessed it. so a final judgement is pending. i am hoping the replacement opener works long and well and will not need to call for repairs in the future <br />"

"Great! Good service, keeping us informed of when they would be coming, fast and beautiful work was done to make our wooden areas maintenance-free. No more peeling paint and garage now looks very neat with the composite wood around the door opening. Unlike work done by someone else on a previous house, the aluminum is tight and folded so that it will never come loose and look shabby!"

"Overall the experience was very positive. The company was able to make the service call within a couple days. They offered an excellent discount on their website, and the resulting price was reasonable. The serviceman was very professional and personable. There was no attempt to recommend unnecessary services. The garage door opener now performs better than when it was first installed."

"This project was a perfect example of "scope creep". But when we saw the results and quality of workmanship, we kept adding to the project. Sean handled all of these additions with professional ease. We were doing this project long distance (this is a vacation home for us) so we often relied on his professional judgement when issues or questions arose - and we were always pleased with the outcome. We will absolutely use him again in the future and are already working on a future project list for him and his crew. This is a top notch crew, both pleasant and professional, who can handle big and small jobs with ease. We can, without reservations, recommend Sean Meyer Construction."

FAQs for garage door installation and replacement projects in Cross-village, MI

Yes, you can replace just one panel if your door is sectional and the damaged panel is available. Most modern residential garage doors have four to six horizontal panels that can be individually replaced. However, finding an exact match becomes challenging for older doors or discontinued styles. For doors over 15 to 20 years old or with multiple damaged panels, a complete door replacement might be more practical and visually consistent.

Minor dents or cosmetic damage can often be repaired without replacing the entire panel, potentially saving you money. However, if the damage affects the door's operation, security, or structural integrity, replacement is often a better investment.

For extensive damage to multiple panels or older doors where matching is difficult, full door replacement might be more economical in the long run than multiple individual panel replacements.

Your garage door panel might be repairable if the damage is superficial and doesn't affect functionality. Small dents in aluminum panels, minor scratches, or cosmetic issues often don't require full replacement. However, replacement is often necessary if the panel is warped, has large holes, shows extensive rust, or affects how the door operates. A professional garage door technician can evaluate the damage and recommend whether repair or replacement offers the best value and durability.
