"Warren and Angel were very well knowledgeable about HOOT septic systems and how to repair them than all of the other companies. Prices were higher but I had good feelings about them. I knew they were going to do the job correctly."

"Review by Bob & Patti C. Project: Septic System – Clear field line obstructions A&J Septic Services arrived at the scheduled time, ready to work and discovered what the problems with the septic were and presented some alternatives solutions. We chose what worked best for us and they began the work. There was a lot of digging but they put the yard back to an acceptable appearance. For the amount of work they put in the project we felt the price was very reasonable. We would rate A&J Septic Services at 5 of 5 stars."

"I saw Issac, the tech, at a convenience store, 1/4 mile from my home. I asked him a few questions regarding my septic system. He told me he could follow me home and do an inspection. It was late afternoon. I'm sure he was on his way to the shop. He was by himself (no helper). He accessed both tanks, performed the necessary service, well after dark. He told me that the company advertises 24/7 and they abide by that statement."

"Chris did a GREAT job. He came out on a very cold and wet night and came up with a good solution for installing a valve and connection point for a gas line that I'm running to my generator. I'd definitely call him again to do more work for me."

"Kelly replaced my 4 Ton unit. Three days after Christmas. Easy to work with, job installed with no issues. I went with his recommended unit. That was two years ago. It has performed flawlessly. Kelly is first stop for next AC work."

"Andrew was great. We bought an older home with a conventional tank that hadn't been maintained in a very long time. He came out within a few hours of calling him on Christmas Eve-Eve.. His price was competitive, he was very knowledgeable and even humored my teens and explained everything as they stood over him watching the process (we've never had a septic tank before!). Have already recommended to neighbors."

FAQs for septic system installation and replacement projects in Cypress, TX

The smallest standard septic system uses a 500-gallon tank, which costs between $875 and $1,150 installed. This size works well for single-occupant dwellings with minimal wastewater production. However, many local regulations specify minimum tank sizes, so check with your building department before committing to this compact option. Some jurisdictions require at least 750 gallons regardless of home size to ensure adequate waste processing capacity.

The installation timeline varies based on site conditions, permit processing, and contractor schedules. The process includes obtaining permits, conducting soil tests, excavation, tank placement, leach field construction, and final connections. Weather conditions, soil challenges, and inspection scheduling can all affect the overall timeline. It's wise to begin planning well in advance of when you need the system operational.

The most economical approach is to install a conventional anaerobic system with a plastic tank. To minimize costs while maintaining legality, obtain multiple quotes from licensed installers, consider scheduling during their slower seasons, and handle basic site preparation yourself. Never skip permits or required testing to save money—illegal installations can result in significant fines and mandatory removal, ultimately costing far more than doing it right initially.

Regular pumping helps prevent system failures and extends operational life. Most small systems require pumping every three to five years, though frequency depends on household size and usage patterns. Pumping services cost between $290 and $530, making this maintenance expense relatively minor compared to potential repair costs ranging from $500 to $2,600 for neglected systems. Establishing a regular maintenance schedule based on your installer's recommendations helps avoid costly emergency services.
