I’m a hardworking person who doesn’t like to leave projects half finished or looking sloppy, I can be a bit of a perfectionist. I’ve always fixed and built almost everything I needed myself and I take pride in being self sufficient. I’ve been an electrician for a year and half now and before that I was fabricating aerators for private residences. I have a wife and two children, so I can handle the chaos of a whole house remodel even if you decide to alter any details halfway through.

Since this was a 20Year old roof and the second layer as well we wanted an honest evaluation. We felt that Mark gave us a good inspection and a detailed estimate. He went the extra mile to get us an additional sample that was in the catalog before we made a decision. He explained the process so we knew what to expect. In spite of the rain they came out within two weeks. The crew started at 7 and finished after 5. They cleaned up and everything looked great when they were done. We are very satisfied with the quality and look of the roof. There was a slight hiccup when the shingles were delivered and placed so they blocked the garage. A call to Mark got that corrected quickly so we could move a car if needed. Overall a good experience."

I talked with the and quot;head guyand quot; about my roof indicating I had lost several shingles and he said he would come and check it out. I had purchased an Angies List voucher for a roof inspection and minor repair. We discussed this and I understood it, of course, would not include roofing.

After touring my roof he said all the roof cap shingles would have to be replaced and gave me a price. No, he did not discount the $79 I had paid for the AL voucher(?). Seemed to think that was okay. Said it would take x number of shingle bundles. He left for quite a while...said he crew would be there within 30 minutes..wrong again. He arrives, crew arrives. Heard him and crew talking and crew said it wouldn't take nearly that many bundles. He comes in to leave and collect (before job is completed). I said not paying until job is done, besides heard the conversation so need to change price. We did.

Overall, he was arrogant, indifferent and not pleasant to deal with. However, his crew was wonderful. Worked hard and at the end did some extra for me. I feel sorry for them having to work for such a pompous person.

"Upon uncovering a leak during a rain, I emailed Maximus Contracting through Angie's List. They were my 3rd email sent but the previous 2 had other things going on and couldn't accommodate the 1-2 day appointment I needed to prevent further leak damage. Eric (Owner) was very responsive and responded to my email quickly. Upon return call, he said he could have someone there that day. Leo arrived and immediately assessed the situation and explained the required repairs to me. Upon his call to Eric and then Eric's call to me to discuss the repair cost, I was very satisfied with the agreed-to price. Eric even had Leo caulk the vent above the garage with no increase in cost. Leo left to get materials and returned in about 20 minutes. The actual repairs took him about 1.5 hours and after cleaning up, he was there for about 3 hours. The weather looked like rain and it did rain that evening and the next day, so I am grateful to Eric for answering my email and acting promptly. I will go back to Maximus General Contracting for any future home repairs.
