I called another company that charged $200 for an estimate.  They gave me a written estimate with pictures, and told me that smoke was leaking from one flu to the next because of cracked flu tiles.  They recommended two stainless steel flu liners, replacing the crown, replacing the four bad bricks, and sealing the outside of the chimney at a cost of $13000.  That wasn't going to happen.  I sent the pictures to another chimney repair company and they would do the same work for $6000. What an eye opener!  How could there be such a disparity?  That's when I called Metropolitan Chimney.  Adolfo looked at the chimney and saw that the cracked flu tiles were near the top of the chimney and could be replaced without needing to reline the flues.  Aldofo was the only person to diagnose the leaking problem. He said, " the two flues were so close together at the top of the chimney. Smoke from one fireplace rose out of the chimney and was sucked down into the adjacent flu,  The smoke came into the house through the other fireplace." The problem was solved with the installation of chimney cap dampers on each flu. I have had a fire in both fireplaces, and smoke has not leaked back into the house.  Aldofo and his coworker were honest, did the work that week, left the house clean, and saved me a lot of money.  It is important to note that the flu liners recommended by the other companies would not have solved the problem of smoke leaking back  into the house. Only Adolfo understood the physical phenomenon of negative pressure as it applied to my fireplaces.

"We bought a house that had a severely damaged chimney that looked as if it would fall over and bust through our roof after a modest gust of wind.  A&T came out and did a quick estimate for us which was quite a bit cheaper than other companies and they also did not try to up-sell us to do additional work (replacing flue, etc) using scare tactics.  We quickly scheduled them to come out a week after the estimate in order to do the work.  They probably would have come out even sooner but we waited to get a final quote from another company.  
They arrived promptly at their window and did all the work with neither my wife or I required to be home (a huge huge plus).  They estimated that the work may take up to a day and a half, but finished in half of a day.  After completion of the job they emailed me some photos of the chimney so that I could see what they had done up close without having to get up on a 40 foot ladder.
I would give them A's all around just for what I described, but they went above and beyond.  Because they had some left over materials, they patched up some cracking that they saw on my roof while they were up there  I actually think that this even fixed a small leak in our sun room that I was going to have someone else come out and look out.  Amazing job - would absolutely hire again.

"Nathaniel has excellent communication skills and shows pride in his craft. I bought a home and the chimney was leaking by day 2. I called O-line Chimney and they came to the property within 24hrs to take a look and gave me an estimate within 20 minutes. "Two gentlemen arrived, very courteous and professional.  I escorted one gentleman to the furnace area to investigate what would be cleaned.  I was amazed to see what I saw!  Soot (looking more like crumbled dirt and sand) nearly filled the flue; solid evidence there was a serious and potentially unsafe problem in that side of the chimney.  The other gentleman shared that he'd go to the top of the chimney to advise me of the condition.  He also took pictures on their phones so I could see the condition above.  There was no cap on the furnace chimney (I had one on the fireplace chimney).  He also looked into the fireplace chimney which I greatly appreciated.  One gentleman advised me of the cost of the repairs, I agreed to the cost, and they began working.  These gentlemen were outstanding; demonstrating great concern for the safety of my home.  I would not hesitate to use them again.
