"I referred Shelby to a client of mine. The main thing they needed was to have a closet built in a room (framing, sheetrock, tape, texture and prime) so that it could be advertised as a bedroom. It required moving electrical and cable plus pulling carpet back and then re-tacked and stretched. Also all of the closet doors in three other bedrooms were installed incorrectly needed to be re-installed with all new hardware and two ceiling fans had to have exposed romex sheathed to code. In addition a cable outlet was installed incorrectly and had to be moved and a dryer vent needed to be installed in the garage (a siding contractor had blocked it!). <br /> When Shelby came to do his free estimate he noticed a gas smell in the garage coming from the dryer. The flexible hose was leaking! Insistent this was not safe (we agreed!), he went to the store that evening, came back and replaced the hose! <br /> He noticed in the garage that there were extension cords connecting several things (not code), exposed wiring, improper water heater support, and missing fire tape on an entire wall (needed for safety and code). <br /> Time was a factor for completion. Shelby emailed his estimate within 24 hrs (wow!) and committed to the short two week window required (another wow!). He went above and beyond working weekends and long hours. The quality of his workmanship and his professionalism far exceeded our expectation. We are grateful for his expertise and because of his diligence; the house went through the property inspection with flying colors!! <br /> When I refer anyone it is not only their reputation on the line it is my reputation as well. "From start to finish the experience was great. I was so happy with them that I did not do a price comparison. I feel I got my money's worth! I had an area that was just dirt where the patio should have been. When I bought my home, there was a rotty old deck covering this bare patch. I tried using flag stones and vegetation but it never really worked...so I finally called the cement guys to patch it up. <br /> First they gave me a rough estimate over the phone, which helped tremendously, to get a feel for what I would be looking at. Then Ignacio came out and inspected the area and gave me a formal proposal. I liked him immediately and felt confident to move forward. In my previous home I'd had extensive concrete done and knew enough to recognize a quality team. <br /> Sure enough, they came promptly the next day, worked all day and finished and cleaned up with no sign of their having been there. I really liked that they dug down deep, included rebar, and hand tinted the concrete for the final finish. It was exactly what I asked for, a smooth tinted finish. <br />  I still need to arrange the plants a bit, but Ignacio even volunteered to have a guy come back and help me! I am so impressed by their employees, who were courteous and very professional. The work is great. They did a really fine job trying to match a motley colored tile that covers the rest of the patio. "It's 1 year after Spryscapes completely remodeled our kitchen in 2014. We're still lovin' their work. <br />    <br /> What prompts me to write now is that we just worked on taxes and were reminded how perfectly on budget Greg Spry was with the estimate -- to the final tab.  And the project was completed in the time frame he said it would be.   <br /> And, a year later, Greg checked in again to see how things were going -- and sent someone over to take care of a tiny cabinet hinge adjustment I could probably have handled had I bothered to read the instructions.  <br />   <br /> We've used Spryscapes previously for work on our 1939 home in San Francisco's Outer Sunset District: our back yard patio & garden (2004, $15,000), our remodel of downstairs into washroom and garage (2010; $60,000).  Their work was excellent each time -- so it was a no-brainer to have them work on our kitchen remodel in 2014 ($80,000). <br />    <br /> The 2014 kitchen remodel went down to the bare studs and opened up a wall to an adjoining room. The final cost was what Greg had estimated, the time took just what they predicted, any changes came with an estimate and change order. They use solid local subcontractors, excellent workmanship, professional and personable crew.  Cleaned up each day, respectful of our needs and living space. Disposed of the waste responsibly, recycling as feasible.   <br />    <br /> Spryscapes is both big picture and detail oriented. We loved the details: like having a cleaning crew come through after the job, taking care of all the hidden places dust from the job might have settled through the house, despite their best efforts at containing through the project. <br />    <br /> Their fees are fair and competitive with other reputable contractors who pay a decent wage to hold a regular dependable crew, workmanship comp, proper disposal of waste, etc etc. but they are more expensive than cheaper outfits.  We used one of these cheap companies when we first moved in and were really unhappy with their work and work habits. So finding Spryscapes was a blessing. We usually don't get competitive bids anymore because we know they'll do an excellent job for a fair price.  And we enjoy working with them and their crew. <br />    <br /> Greg and Mike are former Navy guys, so there is sometimes a loud-talking style that is either endearing ... or not. No matter; they listen well and follow what we want, but definitely have great ideas if we're short of them. <br />    <br /> We're really happy with the work and care the people at Spryscapes provide -- and recommend them very highly."
