"Super fast service. Was able to come and replace my water heater the same day they were contacted. Very detailed. Made sure everything, gas and water, were working correctly throughout the house. Kurt was great. I will definitely call him again, when needed."

"Chris quoted us a price of $200 for the removal of the old sink and installation of a new sink. We had the new sink and a new faucet. I’m guessing it took longer to get the old sink out than he estimated, and he needed to slightly expand the countertop opening for the new sink. Installing the new sink seemed to take a lot of time, as there were lock-downs that he was unfamiliar with. While he was installing the new sink, we discovered the old water filter would not fit on the new water filter faucet which we had. We could have left this go, but Chris needed to run to another job and promised to be back in 3 hours. He said he needed to stop and get some new piping for under the sink, so we asked him also to pick up a water filter that would work with the new water filter faucet that we had. Chris came back with the needed materials, finished up the installation (which grew complicated because the drain holes from the new sink were further back than the drain holes from the old sink), and left by 5. Prior to leaving he did not talk with anyone about price.

Two weeks later, I was very surprised, and disappointed, to have received an invoice from Chris with a charge for sink installation of $380, not the $200 we were quoted. There was no explanation or justification for the dramatic increase in price over what we were quoted. There was also a charge of $65 for the new water filter, a water filter that lists for $20 on line. I called Chris, left a message, and Chris called back and left a message, again with no explanation or justification for the dramatic increase in price. I then used the complaint resolution process offered by Angie’s list. After filing the complaint, Chris did call and I told him that you can’t just almost double what you quoted a job at without an explanation to the customer. We would have been open to some additional charge, but we were shocked that Chris did not find it necessary to even provide an explanation for the increased cost. He did reduce the cost of his labor by half and I agreed to pay the full mark up price on the water filter. I feel that this was a fair resolution and I hope that Chris does also.

We do feel that the work that Chris did was very high quality, and he clearly cared about doing a good job with the sink installation and the water filter replacement. We would use him again, but would seek to be much clearer about what is included in his quote."

"It went extremely well. He was very prompt. One time over a weekend he showed up in about 20 minutes to help with my waste pump. He was always on time. His pricing was reasonable- $90 for a service call- more if he spent a good deal of time on whatever project. I don't know for sure how to define the professionalism. He didn't show up in a freshly ironed uniform or anything like that, but he was polite and well spoken. He answered my questions and explained what he was doing for me. And he seemed like a nice man who cared about his clients. My only problem with him now is that it seems like he has dropped off the face of the earth. He is not responding to my calls or my emails. I want to replace my old tankless water heater that sometimes just stops supplying warm water in the middle of a shower. I don't understand it. We never had any arguements or any reason that I know of for him to be avoiding me. Maybe he's sick?, but I would think someone would be returning calls to customers. Anyway, I'm now on to a new plumber and I feel bad about it. Guess that's life. If you can reach him, I'd recommend him."

"After looking for a qualified plumber to do the project my wife and I almost gave up. Then we went to Angie's List and found Brad Ballweg of Plumbing Concepts in Baraboo. He was a life saver! He came out promptly to our town, 16 miles away, and did not blink at the "laundry" list of things we wanted done. His bid was right in line with what we had roughly planned. He did an absolutely excellent job! Brad is willing to work on detailed projects. He has much experience in putting in gas water heaters which is quite a project in itself. And he is very easy going as a contractor. We are very happy with his work and will be using him again for more projects down the road."

"They did a really thorough job. They found a crack in the flexible pipe that runs on the dryer and takes the lint out. It was actually releasing lint into the air. They pulled it out from that, re-cut it, reinstalled it, and cleaned the floor behind there. They were very good. The Angie’s List coupon covered the cost of the service. It was a reduced price for sure."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Dane, WI

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
