"<p>We had been having problems with leaks in our sunken living room for quite a while. The leaks started last year and we had PermaSeal come out and do a "repair" which ended up not working. (The amount of water was reduced, but it still kept coming in, even after PermaSeal did a wrap seal of our foundation.) Frustrated, especially after PermaSeal did not guarantee their last job and wanted to charge us 1000s of dollars for a redo, we consulted with our neighbor across the street who had a similar problem that arose right when ours did. They said Safeguard had IDd and fixed their leak issue (same spot as ours) for a third of what PermaSeal charged, so we called Safeguard.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>Phil from Safeguard came out very promptly (actually early! He asked permission to come a full 2 hours early if it was convenient for me, and I said yes). He looked at the area where we suspected the leak occurred and commented that PermaSeal (his former employer!) had done a poor job. He also remarked that the leak might not even be a foundation leak, but rather an above-grade leak like a mortar problem or chimney problem that was then dripping down behind the drywall. He conducted a series of tests using water from our hose to see where water might seep in depending on where the water was pointed. He did a "flood" test of the ground near the foundation---no leak. Then he pointed to some spots where there was missing caulk on our chimney seams, and said that the water could be getting in there instead. He had me go inside and look inside the fireplace while he trained the hose on these side seams, and BINGO! That's where the water was getting in. He found the exact leak location when PermaSeal could not (they just "guessed") Phil then said, "Well, we don't fix that since it's above-grade, so I recommend you contact a siding or chimney company to make those repairs. I'm not going to sell you something that won't fix the real problem just to make my commission."</p> <p>Phil spent nearly 2 hours identifying the true source of our water problem, even when it would not benefit him or his company. Very honest and decent guy, and we WILL use this company when we do have a foundation problem. Great!</p> <br />"

"Ryan Musick and his Fivestone Foundations team were professional from the start. Ryan was accessible and prompt for his appointment to bid the project. He quickly took measurements, explained the capabilities of the system he wanted to install and emailed a bid soon after.  <br /> The project started the day my family and I left for a summer road trip. The Fivestone team arrived early and got right to work. We were doing last minute packing and loading up our car. The guys were polite and friendly and moving quickly on the job. Apparently, my older home has a thin concrete slab which allowed them to move around the perimeter of the basement in less time than they had anticipated. We left town and left them with access to the basement. Ryan kept us updated on progress and completion of the job. I was pleasantly surprised upon my return, at how clean they had left the basement. I had seen the amount of concrete and dust dislodged at the beginning of the project and there was not a trace when I returned.  <br /> It was some time before we had any rain in the St Louis area to test the system and when it did finally arrive, we noticed that a floor drain outside my basement door was clogged with silt. The sump system was not working for this particular exterior drain. I texted a picture to Ryan and he called immediately. He said he would talk to his installers and get back to me. Within the hour, he called back to say that the installer had worried about tying the drain into the sump system and thought that connecting it directly to the sewer line would be a better way to handle the dirt and silt.  <br /> Within 24 hours, another Fivestone Foundation team was at my door to connect the floor drain to the sewer line. That was fantastic response time! Again - they were polite, respectful, moved quickly and cleaned up after themselves.  <br /> I would highly recommend Fivestone to anyone looking to install a basement drain tile and sump system. "I walked into my basement on Saturday afternoon to discover a pool of water on the floor.  Looking at the walls I traced it back to right above the window that sits below my kitchen sink.  I popped the paneling off the top of the window box and immediately saw that the galvanized pipe leading from the sink drain to the stack had corroded and a hole had formed.  Frantic because it was 4pm on a Saturday and I knew I couldn't use my kitchen sink or dishwasher until I got this fixed (no easy task with two toddlers to keep up with), I jumped onto Angie's List looking for a plumber with Saturday hours and a good rating.  <br /> I called McDonagh and was told they could have someone at my place in an hour.  Todd showed up at 5:30 and immediately got to work.  Patrick (the owner) showed up with his son Nolan shortly thereafter to take a look and get Todd some parts off of his truck.  We gave Nolan a piece of the pizza my kids were having for dinner as an apology for interrupting his Saturday too.  Patrick came back with a price estimate that seemed fair to me for emergency short-notice service on a Saturday night.  Todd replaced the entire section of pipe from the sink drain to the stack and was finished and out the door by 7:30, leaving us with a fully functional kitchen again.  <br /> Huge thanks to Patrick and Todd (and Nolan) who really saved the day for us.  These guys are absolute professionals and really saved us from some major inconvenience.  Would absolutely recommend and use them again. <br />"
