"This was definitely a 5 star operation from the initial discussions to the finishing touches! For a major renovation and upgrade to our master bathroom we reviewed potential contractors and their customer comments. VKB stood out. Our VKB designer Sean clearly has artistic talent and lots of design experience. He patiently worked with us, showing us 3D design options as we considered alternative configurations and materials. When we were satisfied with the design, Sean transitioned us smoothly to the build phase, introducing Jason as our project manager and Walter as our crew chief. Sean personally familiarized Jason with the project, inviting us to share our thoughts and any concerns. During the renovation, Walter and his crew would carefully isolate the MBR work from the rest of the house, sealing off the room and path to the front door with plastic barriers and floor coverings every morning and remove them every evening. Everyone was polite and sensitive to our living space. Jason was responsive to our wishes to refine several design aspects as the work proceeded, and Walter and his crew smoothly made the alterations. After the main construction was completed Jason remained very attentive to our ‘punch list’ of remaining details and our questions until all had been resolved. Walter ensured very high-quality work down to the finest detail. All the work from design to completion was well within the timeframe we had hoped. In the end, we have a beautiful MBR well beyond our original expectations!"

"<br>It went amazingly well.  We were worried about the disruption that would be caused by having our bathroom, which is attached to our bedroom, torn apart for several weeks, but Devin and his team could not have made it easier.  They put plastic sheeting over everything in our bedroom during the day during the demolition phase, and also rolled up our very large rug (and replaced it under our king-sized bed after they were done with the work).  They got everything done in the amount of time promised.  The crew were uniformly terrific -- nice, incredibly competent guys.   Devin was  great to work with.  Anything we wanted, he was able to figure out.  He could not have been more accommodating or helpful.  We've worked with a lot of great contractors over the years, and Devin is definitely a star.  Our bathroom designer, Debbie Gray, recommended him, and they worked together really well.  I have recommended the team to several friends already.  "

"Carl and his tremendous crew (Kenny, Marceio, Jay) re-did the exterior of our single family home: replaced old wood siding with new, 6-inch Mastick siding, replaced old cedar shingles with split/cedar shake siding, replaced all gutters, capped trim all around and repaired rotted spots. The crew was meticulous in its work, cleaned up, was responsive to any issue we raised during the work and completed the entire job efficiently. Carl was always available and often on-site. "The event that destroyed the condominium interior occurred just before Christmas. By April, the contractor hired by the building insurance company to perform the restoration had replaced the insulation and drywall, but had made no additional progress. After almost 4 months, and many, many attempts, I was unable to obtain status information or any sort of a plan for completing the work. This apartment was rented to a tenant, who was forced out of his home until the renovations could be completed. The situation was untenable, so I gave up on the insurance contractor and asked DGL Construction to do the work instead. Although I was able to give them very little notice, after I explained the situation, Diego (the owner) arranged to assess the work and provide an estimate. He really went out of his way to help, and arranged his already full schedule to fit in this project. Within 3 weeks, Diego and his crew had most of the work finished, to the point my tenant was able to return. I provided some general requirements, made a few selections and ordered appliances, but most of the inspiration came from Diego himself. He even recommended a kitchen layout that improved on the original one. I truly appreciate the work by Diego and his crew over the entire course of the renovation project. The quality of the work, the caliber of the crew, the speed with which it was accomplished and the final result were all outstanding. What was also non-trivial is the amount of stress working with DGL Construction saved me. After trying to work with a group who gave me no feedback, answered none of my questions, and made no discernible progress, what a relief to work with DGL Construction."

"The difference between working with Gene and working with other bathroom contractors that we have had experience with was night and day.  Gene takes great pride in his work and, as his other reviews attest, he has exceptional attention to detail. <br /> Gene and his team very respectful, courteous, timely, trustworthy, kind, clean and tidy, flexible, responsive...all good things. We especially liked that Gene was very present and communicative.  Previous contractors have indicated that they would be there, but really only came in here and there to "check in".  Gene was there every morning. <br /> We barely noticed any inconvenience despite having construction in our master bath right off of our bedroom. There was never any dust or grit or stray bits of grout or tile lying out, which we really appreciated given our baby is active crawler.  At the beginning of the day, they rolled out clean cloth drop clothes (no sticky taped plastic to get dusty day in and day out) to protect our floors and carpets, they took their shoes off outside the door...  At the end of each day, we came home to a small and neat, covered "pile" of construction materials on our front porch, and a clean (usable besides the shower) bathroom that was in the next stage of the process. <br /> Another thing that we appreciated about Gene was that he was assertive and proactive in that he anticipated our questions or requests and took care of them or addressed them with us before we even needed to ask. I felt no need to do "quality control" like with past contractors. <br /> Lastly, as I mention above, Gene noticed other things in our house that needed to be fixed both in and outside of the bathroom. Our front door knob was loose and we hadn't gotten around to tightening it but we came home and it was fixed. He fixed the vent that was not secured (apparently the wrong one had been installed earlier), and installed a door stopper so the door knob didn't hit the wall anymore... <br /> We only asked for a bathtub/shower installation and it feels like we got a comprehensive bathroom upgrade. He was not the "lowest" quote, but we definitely feel like we got the most benefit and the least hassle going with him.  If you want someone you can just trust to get the job done and you don't have time/don't want to deal with constantly checking in with and following up with your contractor, then you don't have to look any further.  After working with many, many contractors (this is our first review for any of them), working with Gene was a breath of fresh air.  We look forward to working with him again for other, future (inevitable) projects. <br />"
