"A crew from Groundworks installed eight floor supports and encapsulated our crawl space last week. Jorge, Isaac, Kenny, Zacch, and Anthony did a great job! They worked very long hours to complete our project in a timely fashion and were great to interact with. They identified several plumbing and air duct problems and brought them to my attention. Jorge, the team leader, was great about communicating with me and keeping me well informed. The after job clean-up was very thorough. Jorge has been available by phone for my questions even after they have moved on to another job. These guys are very deserving of five stars. Also, I want to give a shout out to Anthony who did our inspection/estimate. He was very thorough and patient and made everything understandable. Another five-star guy!"

"The hot water heater before had damaged the floor and was out of code I'm sure. Justus Plumbing got here before expected, but that was great for me. They were efficient, and very professional, especially since I was being a bit nosy. They installed everything quickly and managed to keep the bill to a minimum. I greatly appreciated that this install was quick and painless."

"They dug a huge hole in my front yard looking for the existing water service line to the house. They dug up three shrubs that I had planted earlier in the year. The company?s pipe locator was not there when they started digging. If he had been, this mess could have been averted. After they called him back they dug up another shrub to get at the existing line. The work they did to install a new water service line was satisfactory. Now I just have a wrecked front yard ."

"Mr Bobby Jernigan came out & gave us an estimate that was lower than the others and replaced a Bradford White natural gas hot water heater with a new Bradford White natural gas one. We even got a 40 gallon one instead of 30 and he still beat the competition on price. He had to relocate the hot water heater to a closet & do extra venting & other things to bring it up to code. He also had to do some extra unexpected work and in doing so had to buy extra things he didn't anticipate but still was willing to honor his quote because he had agreed it was a firm price. Hard to find businesses that are both honest and honorable. They gave a one year warranty labor on the installation. I do believe they will honor their warranty also. I had this done in Chickasha, OK where my sister lives....and I live out of town and I was paying for it so he sent me pictures of what he did. Very professional and very nice people. Looks like they did a good job on installation too from the pictures & from what my sister said. I think this is a very good company and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I highly recommend them to anyone else."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Duncan, OK

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
