"Durastruct remodeled my kitchen cabinets for me. They were easily the nicest group of guys to work with. They gave me exactly what I wanted and did it quickly. Scott was not only funny but very knowledgeable and reasonably priced. I would hire these guys again in a heartbeat. They were clean and neat while they worked. By far my best experience with any type of remodeling and will hire them again when it's time to do my bathroom. You will not be disappointed with their work."

"It went smoothly exactly as Paul described the job. His crew installed a sump pump and ensured in drained to the curb. The crew replaced the drain run to the curb and dug around the existing bushes. The crew also connected the the roof downspout to the run to the curb. The crew installed a perforated pipe in a trench which created a floating basement floor on 3 sides of the basement. (the 4th wall was not necessary since was an interior wall.) They concreted over the pipe with a gap to the wall. they repaired and painted the basement walls."

"Overall, we were extremely happy with The Basement Guys and would definitely without hesitation recommend them to others with basement and drainage issues. Tim and the crew were very professional and technically experienced. They were very quick to follow up with us from the initial consultation through completion and project wrap up. I feel they also went above and beyond in making sure the project was completed to our satisfaction. If we ever needed this service again, we would choose The Basement Guys. Thanks!"

"Engineered Foundation Solutions waterproofed my basement in May 2018 and I was waiting until we had some significant rain falls before writing this review. We had significant rain falls on 9/17/18, 10/6/2018 and 12/31/2018 and I am very happy to say that my basement stayed completely dry each time. My house is about 50 years old and has always flooded about three or four times a year since I moved into it in 1989. In 2011 I invited four different contractors, including Engineered Foundation Solutions, to review my basement flooding issue and after meeting with them and reviewing their quotes I decided to try to resolve the issue myself. Over the years I installed three sump pumps in various locations in and around my basement and it helped with medium rain falls but did not fix the issue with significant rain falls. In early 2018 I invited three of the contractors back, including Engineered Foundation Solutions, to review my problem again. Brian with Engineered Foundation Solutions was the only representative that was still with his company. The other two companies sent different representatives since their representatives that met with me in 2011 were no longer with their companies. Brian was thorough and professional and discussed the different options with me to resolve my flooding problem and I decided to go with Engineered Foundation Solutions even though they did not have the cheapest solution. Their lifetime guarantee helped to seal the deal. It took four workers three full days to complete the work and I was kept in the loop the whole time as to what they were doing and why and they answered all of my questions completely along the way. The workers were also professional and courteous and their work was not easy work. They cleaned up the basement very well when they finished but understand that a job of this size required additional cleanup on my part to get the basement “back to normal”. After seeing how well their solution worked during three major rain falls, I could not be happier with their service and I very highly recommend them to anyone needing to resolve a flooding basement issue. I would definitely hire them again."

"I'm very pleased. I had concerns about dust and fumes from the epoxy. The dust was minimal and fumes were not an issue at all. If I had to do it all over again, I'd set up a box fan with filters, as I've seen on YouTube, but even without that, the dust was not overwhelming. The workers arrived on time, explained what they were going to do and welcomed my checking in on them. When they went to lunch, they cleaned up their work area, (even put the toilet seat down in the basement bathroom), something I didn't expect at all. I had questions when they were at lunch, and the salesman got the answers I needed quickly. A couple of things I would change about this process: 1. After they were done, cleaned the area for the day, and put their equipment away, one of the workers invited me downstairs to approve their work. If I had not approved, it was a bit late for me to object as they were packed and ready to go. I suggest in the future the homeowner be asked for their approval before everything's packed up. Their work looked good, but this seemed like a manipulative tactic that wasn't appreciated. 2. The more experienced of the two workers explained early on that he needed to remove some insulation but assured me he'd put it back when he was done. When I saw that he'd not put it back, I mentioned it. He refused to put it back, saying "It doesn't matter". It was an odd way to end a perfect job up to that point. I was totally pleased with how everything was handled, and then that comment and behavior from him just put a bad taste in my mouth. That evening or the next day, I received a very nice gift from the company that was just a really nice touch. A couple of weeks later, we had heavy rains and I experienced water along the walls where the work was done. Within a week of me raising the concern, an arrangement for a technician to visit my home was made. I appreciate their prompt attention to the matter. I expect it's very simple like needing more epoxy at the base of the straps, so I decided to go ahead and submit this review. It's difficult to find trustworthy people to do work in your home. I'm very relieved I found a company that is totally worthy of that trust and highly recommend Acculevel. The work they did looks good and solid."

"Perrone Enterprises and Remodeling was a blast to work with. Very easy to get a hold of and great attitudes. My experience was top notch, I really liked how Dominick engaged his opinion based off of years of experience with certain situations and materials. He was up front about costs and did exquisite work. From start to finish (during the sweeping nation of COVID-19) it totaled over all 7 days from a one car garage to a beautiful office/Den space for me and my family to enjoy. I would recommend Perrone Enterprises and Remodeling to anyone looking to have a professional renovate or have contractor work that needs to be done. Thanks again Dominick, for your help and your expertise."

"We are very pleased with the people, service, quality, and the finish product.  We were more interested in a quality job than a fast one. The cost was considerably more than we planned, but some of that was upgrades by our choice. Do it right, <br /> so you don't look back and have regrets. We spent a lot of time on layout and function, so it looks god and is user friendly. We would defiantly recommend  Hartville Hardware for a remodel."

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in East-springfield, OH

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
